Secrets of the City of London - Walking Tour

The oldest neighbourhood in London, the City survived both the Great Fire and the Blitz to become a global financial powerhouse today. It's home to an iconic cathedral, soaring skyscrapers and ancient Roman remains, all packed into one square mile. And did you know that it has its own unique system of government too? The City of London is like nowhere else in the world, and this tour is the perfect introduction. We'll wander down alleyways, stroll medieval streets, and look up at gleaming new towers. You can step back in time at London's oldest church, visit a magical movie location, and take a selfie or two in atmospheric ruins. A resident of the Square Mile, I learn something new about the City every time I step out of my front door. On this tour, I'll share some of my favourite stories and local spots as we explore this unique neighbourhood together.

We'll meet at Tower Hill station, in one of the most intriguing corners of the Square Mile. Our route will include: - the oldest church in the City of London - a monument to heroic self-sacrifice in one of the City's most charming hidden parks - the site of London's first coffee house - the remains of the Roman wall We'll finish outside St Paul's Cathedral - the London icon that dominates the City's skyline. There will be plenty of time to take photos and we'll stop for refreshments around halfway through - coffee, a snack, or perhaps even a pint in one of the City's historic pubs.
