Welcome to the City of London! I'm lucky enough to live right here in the Square Mile and I can't wait to show you around. While 500, 000 people come to work in the City of London every day, only 9, 000 of us actually live here. So if you're looking for an insider tour of this magical neighbourhood, then look no further. A writer by trade, I love a good story - and over the pandemic I discovered that the City of London is packed with them. When the streets emptied out, I spent hours just walking. Every time I stepped outside, I spotted something different: Roman remains, a secret garden, a plaque marking the spot where Shakespeare once lived. It inspired me to discover more about the Square Mile, and to train as a professional guide. The City is the oldest part of London, with 2, 000 years of history, culture and architecture to discover. But I also love the 21st century version with its skyscraper viewing platforms and seriously good coffee. Join me on a tour and experience the City like a local. *As seen in The Telegraph and on ITV's Lorraine* If you're familiar with London, you'll know that Taylor Swift's London Boy covers every corner of the city. So on this tour we'll zoom in on the north London destinations mentioned in the song. Our walk begins in Highgate. It's the neighbourhood where our heroine goes to the pub with his mates, but also a big celebrity hotspot. The singer George Michael used to live here, and was next-door neighbours with the model Kate Moss. We'll then wander down through Parliament Hill Fields in Hampstead Heath and past the bathing ponds, towards Kentish Town - where we'll stop for a kebab at Taylor's favourite kebab shop and a drink at the Bull & Gate, as seen in the video for End Game. Next is Camden Town. We'll hop on a bus to Camden Market, and pay tribute to the neighbourhood's music heritage at the Amy Winehouse statue. Finally we'll stroll up to Primrose Hill, the buzzy area where Taylor used to live
We'll meet at Highgate underground station. Our route will include: - Highgate village, a celebrity hotspot - The 17th century pub where Taylor and Joe Alwyn were spotted - A stroll through the south-east corner of Hampstead Heath - A drink and a kebab at the locations for the End Game video - Camden Market - Primrose Hill This is a long walk (6km) but it's all downhill apart from a short uphill section (5-10 minutes) at the very beginning. However, comfortable shoes are advised! Please also bear in mind that the Heath can get very muddy. *Please note that the Bull & Gate will be closed for refurbishment from May 28 to June 13 so the tour will include a drink at an alternative pub along the route* This tour can be customised. Please get in touch with any requests or to discuss alternative food/drink options.
