Shakespeare in London Walking Tour

Join me on this tour where I will guide you through Bankside, following footsteps of Shakespeare, most famous playwright of all time. In Shakespeare's time Bankside was the notorious entertainment centre. Being outside the City of London's juristiction it included illegal activities like bear baiting and brothels. The ladies who worked at Bankside's houses of ill repute were known as 'Winchester geese' . I have been conducting these tours for number of years and you will be informed and entertained. As well as telling you about Shakespeare I will also share exciting and fascinating stories and events of the area, from London's oldest bridge to oldest Gothic church. Meeting point: New Globe Walk - in front of the new entrance of the Globe Theatre opposite Starbucks. We will walk through cobble-stoned Bankside streets, going back in time. Some of the sights on the tour: • Millennium Bridge • Globe Theatre • Original Globe Site • Clink Prison -oldest prison in England • Winchester Palace • Golden Hinde • Southwark Cathedral • London Bridge • Borough Market The tour duration is 4 hours with a drink/snack break. We will be visiting The Globe Theatre and joining the Shakespeare's Globe Experience including a brief tour of the theatre. During our walk, we will get the opportunity to visit the Gothic Southwark Cathedral - which connects to Shakespeare, Dickens, Harvard, and other famous people. We will stop to see the remains of Winchester Palace and grab photos of Golden Hinde, views of River Thames, Millennium Bridge and St Paul's Cathedral, and more.
