London is a jigsaw puzzle, a monopoly board, a map layered over a hundred maps. It's Regal and Rock and Roll. It's ancient and modern. It's one of the most exciting cities on the planet. I am a Londoner, born and bred, and it's my passion to share its secrets with you. I have been, variously, an author, novelist, stand-up comedian and teacher. I published three novels with Hodder & Stoughton and my latest (a crime thriller) is on Kindle. Non fiction includes writing books on film and TV. I published a Young Adult Novel about a boy who becomes lost in the labyrinth of the tube tunnels in 1941 (Acorn books). I wrote a two-part crime thriller for the ITV network, set in London and broadcast in the 2000s. I turned to tour directing in 2014 and ever since have led long lines of Americans through the tube network (none lost yet) the streets of London and across the UK, Scotland and Ireland (even France). I began studying for the highest guiding qualification, the London Blue Badge, in 2019 and I graduated post- Pandemic. This allows me exclusive access to the Tower, Abbey, St Pauls and other places. My hobbies are mainly culture- based. I like to attend theatre now and again (West End and Fringe). I love film, in particular Horror or London movies, put together that would include Creep, Death Line and 28 Days later. I attend the NFT on the South Bank, the Curzon and the Odeon, Shaftesbury Avenue. I'm a runner, but cannot afford to enter the London marathon, so I continue to plough across Richmond park when I can. My partner Mary lives in Brighton, so I spend time down there when the trains will allow. I also paint in acrylics, mainly landscapes and views of the pier. She too is a guide, so we don't often get time off together. One day I will persuade her to get a cat. I do not lecture. Tours are a conversation - a chat, a way of looking that reveals the hidden London. We must always look UP, as concrete, glass and steel gives way to brick, mortar and ghosts of the past. We see London anew each and every time. It is a fascinating city and I hope I can do it justice. If you are spending two weeks or two days here, London has so much to offer. It's sometimes hard to choose. Museum or gallery? Walk, bus, tube or cab? Theatre or gig? Which market is best? I try to keep updated on all the current shows and with the ever-changing events in town (and things do change - fast). If you want a fun few hours that are both entertaining and informative, with a good dash of great facts to take away along with the memories - then do get in touch with me. London Blue Badge. I am not a driver. I can accompany you in a vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Overview of your London tour

London is the birthplace of classic rock. I was there at The Marquee, Music Machine and Half Moon - and I have the T-shirts and old denim to prove it. Let me show you where it began in Tin Pan Alley. We'll weave through Soho's back streets to where Jimi Hendrix played his last gig and the studios where the Beatles, Bowie and Queen produced their early hits. See the pub that launched The Stones. Carnaby Street, home of 'Swinging London' (you may end up overspending in the Stones' Store). Hear tales of dodgy managers, rock romances and, of course, crazy Keith Moon. We'll see where Beatlemania began, and visit the notorious courthouse where rock stars stood 'before the beak. ' We pause for a photo op at the 'Ziggy Stardust' before heading to Savile Row where the Beatles played their final gig. Air guitars will be provided.
