Private Full Day Chartwell House and Hever Castle Excursion

Upon departing London, we will head out south-east through the rolling countryside of Kent, "The Garden of England". We will begin our day together at the beloved family home of Winston Churchill, Chartwell House. England's most famous Prime Minster lived here with his wife and five children between 1924 and his death in 1965. We can see where he wrote some of his famous speeches and take a stroll around parts of the surrounding gardens. Exploring his personal lakes, kitchen garden and his Studio which houses some of his collection of over 500 canvasses. We will then return to your London hotel or another agreed location. It's then onto the medieval Hever Castle which dates back to 1270. Apart from being the childhood home of Queen Anne Boleyn and also King Henry the VIII's fourth wife Anne of Cleves it also also formed the backdrop to many historical events up to and including the 20th century. Hever is surrounded by beautiful gardens and so light walking will be necessary.
