We'll be starting from Dickens' house in Doughty street. We look at the Chancery Lane area, many sites important in the life and work of Dickens, Dr Johnson's house, a very old and very literary pub where over 50 writers have drunk, ancient areas important to Restoration drama, the writer of King Kong, the first female news editor, Shakespeare lodgings, John Donne's footprint, Thomas More, Thomas Hobbes, Pope, Milton, William Blake , John Keats, Samuel Pepys and many others. We will review the work of a contemporary writer and have lots of chances for an immersive and participative experience. In addition I worked for many years in the City of London . I'll share with you my insider stories about living, working and having fun in the city. We will look at sights I describe in more detail in my book available on Amazon "Literary Sights in the City of London". There'll be lots of opportunities to enjoy refreshments in the many great restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs on our route.
