My name is Rachel and I am born and bred in London. My family have been in London for around 300 years. I have a passion for London and the UK, its many stories and social history. I also love music and love to share some of the iconic venues and stories of bands gone by. I have been a teacher of both children and adults and have been a market trader travelling Asia before doing the Knowledge of London to become a Black Taxi driver. I took 3 and a half years learning all the streets of London and have been a qualified driver since 2010. Our Carriage in London is My New Electric Black Taxi which seats up to 6 passengers. It has a glass roof, free Wifi and Usb ports for charging your phones or devices. I have always had an interest in Social history and went on to do my London Taxi tour guide badge. I have continued my studies to include art and culture in 18th and 19th Century London. This enables me to include art galleries and museums in my tours with some knowledge. I have also been Trained and have a love for out of Town and Enjoy creating tours that take in the English Countryside. I am a member of the National Trust and English Heritage. I Have a real Passion for what I do and work hard to ensure my tours are personal to each of my clients. I celebrate the diversity of my city and hope you will get a sense of the amazing people that have been here before us to make this city what it is today. I believe there is no better way to see London than with a London Cabbie. And with our knowledge of all the streets, we are able to navigate the city like no other drivers. Rachel was a great guide This was our first trip to London so we had no idea what to see or do Rachel took the time before to get to know our interests and modified tour to suit us Her communication was on point and timing was perfect Rachel is a very good guide and a better person at end of tour we were all more like friends Thanks Rachel and as we mentioned we are back in London next year and we will 100 percent contact you for a tour of a different kind
It's only a four because the traffic was crazy and the changing of the guard was cancelled :( Rachel was FABULOUS! The best thing about the tour was Rachel's personality. The second-best thing about the tour was, we were able to see things off the beaten path. We don't care for typical "touristy" things....she knows her home, its history, and navigates the crazy traffic with ease!
Rachel is an EXCEPTIONAL London Tour Guide and Black Cab Driver Who Goes Above and Beyond! Rachel was absolutely wonderful, and we cannot recommend her highly enough. Our flight to London was delayed by 24 hours, completely disrupting our plans, but Rachel was incredibly understanding and did everything she could to reschedule the tour for the very next day so we could still spend time together, even though she had a bunch of things scheduled already, which shows you the big heart she has. She truly went above and beyond for us. Even though our time was shorter than originally planned, Rachel managed to show us a lot and we had an absolute blast. She has a genuine passion for history and shared fascinating, engaging stories about British history that brought everything to life. My daughters, ages 13 and 10, were completely captivated, and the tour was enjoyable and enriching for all of us. Trust me, we needed it as we were all very jet lagged! Rachel is intelligent, kind, funny, and incredibly easy to talk to. She welcomed every question we had and made us feel comfortable from the moment we met her. She also drives her own traditional London black cab, which requires passing an exceptionally rigorous examination and having an in-depth knowledge of the city. She is an excellent and safe driver and navigated London, while imparting all sorts of knowledge and being very chatty, which is a gift in itself. We only wish we could have spent more time with her, as she was such a pleasure to be around. Rachel is not only an outstanding tour guide but also a genuinely wonderful person. I wish I could express in this review how much of a rare gem she is. I promise you won’t be disappointed if you tour with her. She made our limited time in London truly special, and we would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone visiting the city.
Rachel is a wonderful guide with a deep knowledge of London and how to get around. We saw everything on our list and she provided expert commentary at every site. Plus she took us to some hidden gems we never would have found without her. We would highly recommend Rachel.
Wife and I had a great time with Rachel. She is very informative, outgoing with a great sense of humor. We got back to the airport in plenty time to make our connecting flight with no worries yet nothing about the day was rushed.
