Hello & welcome to glorious England ! My name is Nick and for most of my adult life I have been a wondering, wandering academic full of wanderlust. I'm passionate about travel, very fond of meeting fellow travellers, photography, driving to new places, learning on the way & returning to old favourites with new eyes. Having lived in many different countries & worked aboard cruise ships in shore excursions they are still a few I have yet to visit and believe there is still much to discover. Although I was born in, and my ancestors & progeny hail from, England I have spent many years in British Columbia, Canada. I no longer have a British accent, which is a pity, but at least we will speak the same language ! England is the quintessential land to visit & to be a guide in as there's such a layered history & many diverse places to tour. From prehistoric monumental megaliths, Roman baths, Anglo-Saxon forts, Norman castles, medieval cathedrals, Tudor palaces, Georgian county houses, picturesque seaside villages, vibrant modern cities & the colourful characters who have lived here it could take a lifetime to see it all. When I travel to a new country I find that my time is limited & that often a private excursion is the best way to make use of it. I do not wish to be herded onto a big crowded tour bus waiting for strangers. One wants to travel with chosen companions, start at the location and time you desire, see only those place you are keen to see, have your own questions answered & at your own schedule and pace. All of my private shore excursions & tours include all of these features & can be further customised to suit you and your entourage. They also include private transport in a roomy luxury vehicle which is perfect for touring. Framlingham College, Simon Fraser University, University of Ottawa, BSS., University of Alberta School of Law, Reading law. Member of English Heritage, the National Trust, & Historic Royal Palaces. TFL licensed private hire driver~guide, with comprehensive public carriage liability insurance & DBS. I am not a Blue Badge guide so will not be able to guide you inside some monuments in London. Often I will escort you inside & give you the essential information before entering.

My family and I live a few minutes from Hampton Court and we like to walk along and swim in the Thames and bird watching in nearby Bushy Park. We also enjoy seeing flower shows, concerts and plays like 'the Six' inside the palace. On arrival, you will behold the king's Heraldic Beasts and cross the moat to the ancient oak Great Gatehouse. Inside you will explore the home of Henry VIII, his wives and children. You will see why this was his favourite residence, and discover the world of the Tudor court, his Great Hall, royal chapel, kitchens and tennis courts. You will see Tudor, Baroque and Georgian architecture and artworks. Outside you will be impressed by the stunning privy and rose gardens, the old vine & maze and take some colourful photos. Windsor, Eton and the surrounding parks are also a pleasure to walk in. Inside Windsor Castle you will see the ancestral home of the British monarchy and those who made their presence known here through their eclectic architecture, memorials, artefacts & artworks
