This is a wonderful opportunity to get a good overall picture of the ancient city of Ephesus, as well as digging into our wonderful local gastronomic world. I've always wanted to offer this combination of visiting the must-see sites and then preparing traditional food for ourselves. Finally, the dream came true when I met with the right and great people to do it! I am offering you a tour at your own pace without rush. Enjoy walking tour through this amazing city and see the magnificent monuments, talk about its rich historical background, daily life, fashion, food . . Then we will take part of a cooking session, hands on! Learn to prepare iconic dishes passed down through generations, including dolma, carrot tarator (havuç tarator), cheese rolls (sigara böreği), and homemade meatballs (köfte) or stuffed eggplant with ground meat or casserole dish. Nesrin was a great host - the best shore excursion we’ve had over several trips. Extremely knowledgeable about Ephesus and history in general. The cooking class was a highlight in a countryside boutique hotel with a great pool area and the friendliest authentic hosts. Our custom tour with Nesrin was one of the highlights of our trip. She was so friendly and accommodating as she showed off her amazing country to our family. We absolutely loved the cooking experience and can't wait to try out the recipes at home. Our tour of the ancient city of Ephesus with Nesrin was amazing. We got to see how people lived thousands of years ago. She was very knowledgeable and expertly weaved us through the ruins to avoid the crowds. We next went to a local's family property and helped cook a traditional Turkish meal which we ate on a deck overlooking the countryside. We ended our day at a family run pottery studio. Our friend got to sit at the wheel and throw a dish. Nesrin was a great tour guide. We had a wonderful day.
Fantastic! We travel a lot and Nesrin made our day in Kusadasi/Ephesus one of our favorites. We were a party of 11 (ages 12-87) and she made the day enjoyable for all with her welcoming personality, kindness and flexibility. Ephesus was amazing; Nesrin is such a knowledgeable guide. Our day included a cooking class with delicious food at Baska Bir Yer, whose owners were so friendly, and a visit to Sultankoy to buy a Turkish Rug. She was quick to respond to my many messages. Our guide Nesrin was amazing! She came and met us right at the dock. We had a driver waiting for us. The van was clean and cool. She was extremely knowledgeable of the history of the ancient city of Ephesus and Türkiye. She had some pics to show us that illustrated how the ancient ruins originally looked. We then went to a local b&b kitchen and learned about traditional preparations and then the best part, eat! We have taken many tours abroad and highly recommend her and Tours by Locals. 10 stars!
Nesrin was a fantastic and knowledgeable guide. She was warm, funny and compassionate. We have taken 84 tours and this is one of the best. She met us personally at the pier and escorted us to a Mercedes van with a wonderful driver who assisted my husband the entire day and took care of his scooter and his walker . We went to Ephesus, ceramic studio and we enjoyed a cooking class/ lunch in a private home. We highly recommend her and you don't want to miss this tour.
