Explore the historical heart of Izmir's Jewish heritage, starting at Havra Sokak (Synagogue Street) in the vibrant bazaar area historically known as "La Juderia." Next, we will visit the Karataş Synagogue, the nearby historic Jewish Hospital, and the famous Asansör (historical elevator) which offers incredible city views. For a look at modern community life, we can also visit the active Alsancak Synagogue. To enrich our journey, we can explore the excellent Archaeological and Ethnographical museums. Finally, we will drive up to Kadifekale to see the ancient city walls and water cisterns originally built by Alexander the Great, where you will enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Izmir. Cultural Crafts & Shopping Insight: Our day includes brief stops at traditional local workshops to highlight authentic Turkish craftsmanship. Hosts will proudly display products for sale.
