Welcome to Stockholm, my city! I was born in Västerås, 94 km from Stockholm. I came to the capital for the first time when I was five years old and remember the day like it was yesterday. Instant love. After finishing school, I went abroad to work as a tour guide. For 25 years, I traveled around Europe and Asia. When I was 49, I moved to Stockholm. It is its proximity to water that makes me love Stockholm. On one side of the city lies Mälaren, Sweden's third largest freshwater lake. On the other side lies the Baltic Sea with its brackish seawater. Stockholm is built on 14 islands that are connected by 57 bridges. Each of these islands has its own atmosphere and unique style and manners. Stockholm is a city open to different perspectives and new ideas. A vibrant destination where innovations in music, design, fashion and technology mix well with museums, monuments, statues, green parks and the islands of the archipelago. Fresh air is abundant. In my spare time, I like to travel, preferably with my friends, but sometimes it's nice to travel alone too. I like to read, explore new museums and try new restaurants. Eating with others is a moment of conviviality, of sharing: a ritual where an exchange of tastes, aromas and interests takes place. Another thing I love about Stockholm is that it is so easy to get around. One can walk, take a bus or a boat. I like to share my experiences and I'm flexible. I think it would be great to help you organize your trip according to your interests and wishes. Let me take care of you and yours during a visit to Stockholm. I look forward to meeting you! I am a qualified Tour Guide. I have an authorization made by the Stockholm City Council. I am authorized to guide in most museums and palaces in Stockholm and Greater Stockholm. I also have the license to do a guided tour inside the City Hall. I also have a license to conduct tours in Uppsala and I'm a professional tree hugger (Shinrin Yoku - Forest bathing). I have a driving license, but I am not a driver. I can arrange a hired vehicle with professional english speaking drivers where needed.

This relaxed private tour invites you to experience Stockholm like a local using the city’s excellent public transport. I will meet you at your cruise terminal with a sign showing your name, and together we begin our journey into the city. The tour includes tickets for local transport such as bus, metro, tram or ferry depending on the route we take during the day. We visit the remarkable Vasa Museum, home to the perfectly preserved 17th-century warship that sank on its maiden voyage in 1628, and explore parts of historic Gamla Stan. During the walk we also step inside one of the city’s historic churches such as Storkyrkan, the Finnish Church or Riddarholmen Church. Along the way we pause for a traditional Swedish fika with coffee or tea and something sweet. The tour can easily be personalized — shorter or longer, with more or fewer visits — just let me know and I will be happy to arrange it.

I am happy to meet you at any of Stockholm’s cruise terminals and will be waiting at the harbor holding a sign with your name. If your ship docks in Nynäshamn, please let me know in advance so I can plan accordingly. The port is located outside Stockholm and it takes about 45 minutes for me to travel there by train, with limited departures. This may slightly reduce our time in the city and involve a small additional cost for the train ticket.
