Wine and Tapas Experiencie at Historical Restaurants, and Taverns of Madrid Old Section

Alfonso is the perfect guide for this tour, not only knows the history of each location, but a foodie himself

We thoroughly enjoyed our tapas tour with Alfonso! He was able to tailor the tour to our needs- we had a tween and teen with us as well as some food allergies, which Alfonso handled expertly. I appreciated how he kept our kids engaged and interested which is not alway easy at their age. In fact, they said this tour was their favorite part of our time in Madrid. Alfonso is a wealth of knowledge about history, food, wine and was easy to chat with. I would definitely book him again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone!

We had the most fabulous time walking the streets with Alfonso, while stopping in here and there to taste some local foods and beverages. He introduced us to vermut, and we loved it…even ordering it a few more times during our trip to Madrid! Alfonso had our evening all planned out and our 4 hours together passed by very quickly. We thoroughly enjoyed every venue he took us to. We tried some things we wouldn’t have known to order on our own. Each item was delicious…and plentiful! We highly recommend this relaxing tour with Alfonso, who is friendly, conversational, and informed!

This was our third tour with Alfonso. We did two with him on a previous trip and had no doubt we were going to do a tour with him on this trip. We brought friends with us on his tapas tour this time. We knew we loved Alfonso but within 5 minutes of the couple we brought with us meeting Alfonso, they saw what we had also seen. A tour guide with a passion for showing off Madrid. I gave Alfonso a couple suggestions of what we wanted to try on the tapas tour months before arriving. He knocked it out of the park. In one bar, we walked in and started heading up the narrow stairs to the next floor. The bar tender looked at us and asked, “Where we were going?”. We said, “We were with Alfonso”. That was all the bar tender needed to know and let us go. That was the running joke the rest of the night. We were invincible and had VIP access because we were with Alfonso.

We had a great evening tasting tapas and wines with Alfonso. He is very personable and extremely knowledgeable about food and wine. At each of our four locations we were welcomed with open arms and had wonderful food, drink and service. Our advice... skip dinner and spend an evening with Alfonso experiencing wines and tapas. The wine and Tapas tour was excellent. We had fabulious Tapas and wine in several locations. We learned about the grades of Iberian ham and got to taste each one. Alfonso is a wonderful guide. We had to cancel a previous tour with him due to COVID. He helped us get our money back on bullfight tickets. He made sure we were safe from pick pockets. Hire him because he is the best!
