Yuliia was exceptional. We’ve taken numerous TBL tours on our honeymoon. She was friendly, knowledgeable, engaging, eager to share what she knew about the areas of Madrid we saw. As a gay couple on our honeymoon she couldn’t have been anymore thoughtful, inclusive and enjoyable. She took us to Chueca (gay village) and shared the history and knowledge. She was concerned she didn’t know enough out that she wasn’t using the right words and were shared some of our knowledge which she was genuinely interested in. We don’t expect a guide to know everything, but the curiosity to learn and engage was outstanding. One of the best tours we’ve had visa TBL. (Except she was wearing a Yankees cap, and though I live in Toronto, I lived in Boston for 25 years, and well that’s downright offensive! 🤣🤣🤣) seriously she was fantastic! We wish she could have been with us on other tours but we were only in Madrid for one day!

We will go in a completely different direction and immerse ourselves in the life of local celebrities and old-money individuals who have long since chosen the Salamanca district, called the Spanish capital's Upper East Side - the most luxurious and refined district of Madrid. We will visit Ernest Hemingway's favorite cafe and the bar that Frank Sinatra visited during his trips to the Spanish capital. Then we will move to the most independent district of Madrid, Chueca, where we will explore cozy little squares, unusual art galleries, stylish shop windows, the royal church - a symbol of insurmountable love, delicious food markets and even a palace, one of the architects of which was Antonio Gaudi himself!

Great experience
Yullia was a great guide ... we loved seeing Madrid through her lens and visiting parts of the city where residents live and tourists can't be found. We had been on two tours previously of some of the most publicized areas and thought it best to learn about the Madrid that is not well visited. We started in the Literary Quarter, Barrio de las Letras to learn more about the writers of early Madrid. We continued on through the financial section visiting some of the old churches. We then went to the Chueca section of Madrid which was very quaint and interesting. After this we continued on to Salamanca area learning of the different architecture. Yulia was very pleasant and well versed of Madrid, great tour.
