Hello! I'm Ana, a local guide from this beautiful city, Córdoba, which was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO back in 1994. I was born here and I am so proud to show this town to travellers who are excited to get to know its history as the old califal city. I’ve studied Tourism and English philology, which lead me to working in Cambridge, UK. But after a while, I felt that I needed to come back home, so I prepared myself to be a guide in my hometown. I have been an official guide in Spain since 2016, and also have the Rasgo license which allows me to guide specific tours about the Jewish people past (Sefarad’s Routes). I am also an Official guide for the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba since 2017. I love to spend time with travellers immersing in the narrow and flowered streets to show them the real city, apart from the typical tourist places to visit. So, If you want to spend time in Córdoba I’m ready to customize a full-day tour for you!

On this tour, we'll visit the most important monuments of Córdoba declared World Heritage by UNESCO, such as the Mosque - Cathedral, the Jewish quarter with its narrow streets and the Medieval Synagogue. I will also be showing you some of the courtyards inside the private houses which participate in the Festival of Patios, which was declared as an Intangible World Heritage in 2012. I'm excited to tell you how this centennial festival still develops every year! One of the highlights of this tour is that it allows you the opportunity to meet the owners of these private houses, and through this experience you will learn why every courtyard is different and unique. I will help you as the language intermediary with these families, and through this visit you'll get acquainted with their traditions and way of life.
·Once we've gathered, we'll begin exploring el Patio de los Naranjos, before stepping in to the Mosque. ·Inside it, we'll see its main structural parts, plus many of its chapels and the Holy Monstrance. ·After the visit, we'll continue walking to the Jewish Quarter, starting with the Cardenal Salazar square. ·Later, we'll pass by an unfinished catholic church before visiting the Zoco, a local artisan market with beautiful blue flower pots. ·Next, we'll step into the Synagogue of Cordoba which is decorated with mudejar artwork, which was very popular in the 14th century. ·Afterwards, we'll see the statue of Maimonides. ·Later we'll go across a street that presents the recipe of salmorejo, one of Cordoba's trademarks. ·Right after Salmorejo street, we'll pass by the Royal Stables to enter the San Basilio neighbourhood. ·We'll then visit a private home owned by a friendly couple that'll receive us and take us to their patio. ·The tour will end after having visited at least 3 more houses' courtyards.
