The Ummayad dynasty in Córdoba - Half Day Tour

The Umayyads extended the Islamic territory from Damascus, to the Western world. In 711 they conquered the Iberian Peninsula and it became an Umayyad province. When the Umayyad caliphate of Damascus was overthrown by the Abbasids in 750, the last surviving member of the dynasty fled to Spain, establishing himself as Amir and thus initiating the Umayyad emirate. This presence and control will last until the division of Al-Andalus in 1031. Do you want to know what al-Andalus was?
