Hello! I'm Ana, a local guide from this beautiful city, Córdoba, which was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO back in 1994. I was born here and I am so proud to show this town to travellers who are excited to get to know its history as the old califal city. I’ve studied Tourism and English philology, which lead me to working in Cambridge, UK. But after a while, I felt that I needed to come back home, so I prepared myself to be a guide in my hometown. I have been an official guide in Spain since 2016, and also have the Rasgo license which allows me to guide specific tours about the Jewish people past (Sefarad’s Routes). I am also an Official guide for the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba since 2017. I love to spend time with travellers immersing in the narrow and flowered streets to show them the real city, apart from the typical tourist places to visit. So, If you want to spend time in Córdoba I’m ready to customize a full-day tour for you!

Visit a different and fascinating Mosque from the 8th century, converted into a Cathedral in 1236. A unique building, which mixes the history and the architecture of both kinds of temples (there are actually 64 private chapels inside the Mosque Cathedral). I have been an official guide for the Mosque-Cathedral for the better part of a decade. I am excited to share the story about the fall of the Andaluz empire and how this began the process of transformation of the Mosque to become a Cathedral. This tour is an hour and a half exploration inside this centennial landmark.
·After we've gathered, we'll proceed to explore the temple's Courtyard (Patio de los Naranjos). ·Next, we'll step inside the temple and I'll brief you on its historical context and focus in the first part of the structure. ·Afterwards, we'll go deeper into the temple, entering the Emir Abderraman II's extension of the building. ·What follows will be the most beautiful part of the Mosque, dating back to the time of the caliphate, where we'll see notable Islamic artistic influence. ·Later, we'll approach one of the bishops' chapels and admire the silver and golden holy monstrance inside it. ·Next, we'll get to the biggest extension of the Mosque which was built by a military chief during the 11th centre. ·At last, we'll see the main chapel of the cathedral, centred within the middle of the building.
