Overview of your Cordoba tour
Way back in the 10th century, an entire new luxury city emerged from scratch as a way to show the world the power of the Al-Ándalus Caliphate. The best artist moved in to work in gold & silver covered roofs and the Caliph himself made his palace over the rest of the city to be seen by all citizens exactly where the sun set. 80 years afterwards, the city vanished. Let's discover what still remains of such an extraordinary place together, one that amazed any embassy that was invited to come over. This city was alleged to be true Paradise on Earth, that will be the idea retained into each visiting ambassador's mind. The power of the Al-Ándalus empire was the one of Caliph Umayyad, who represented God on Earth, also referred to as the Prince of the Believers. The city stood exactly where the sunset takes place in Córdoba. But things have changed much to now. . . as stones speak about this past, let me explain what they have to tell you in this tour that brings to life what this city was before.
Your Cordoba tour itinerary
·Meeting outside the entrance of the Visitor Reception center, we'll get inside the building to pick up our tickets. ·Then, we'll enjoy a 20 min long animated short movie projection that reconstructs what we know about the city. ·We'll hop on the the archaeological site's shuttle bus which will take us directly to the ruins that have been recovered during years of excavations in order to explore the areas that today are open to the public: -A majestic, polyvalent room where ambassadors rested upon arrival. -Some of the patios and the covered streets ambassadors crossed to move around the town. -The area of the city's main mosque. -The stables for both Royal and visitor's horses. -The Main Audience Room with it gardens symbolising Heaven on Earth. -The Prime Minister's house, who was the right hand of the Caliph. -Some servants & soldiers working & resting areas. -Once we finished exploring, the very same shuttle will pick us up to return to the Visitor Reception center.
