Dear traveler! I love to connect with people and I am totally in love with our little sLOVEnia! ;) I live in Ljubljana, a small, lovely capital, where I finished my studies. I love foreign languages, history and nature and traveling has always been my greatest passion. My 28-year-long career as a local guide and trip leader has brought me into contact with travellers from all over the world, in several foreign languages. Besides that, in the past I lead Slovenian guests to different overseas countries. Slovenia is a small 'green patch' of Europe. It's the only country whose name contains the word 'love'. I love discovering underground of Slovenia. We've got more than 12. 000 caves and I have visited a lot of them so far, also some little ones, where no guides are available. Parts of Slovenia look like cheese underground, it is full of underground breathtakingly beautiful karstic phenomena. The Postojna Cave is a 21-km long karst cave system, a web of underground passages, galleries and chambers, which has in almost 200 years been visited by over 33 million people. There's almost no corner in the cave without a beautiful stalagtite, stalagmite, a curtain or similar. The cave boasts with the oldest underground train in the world, which we will use partly to explore this underground jewel. Visit the Predjama castle, a mysterious fort-like building close to the cave. Kras area is due to its pleasant Mediterranean climate and looks everyone's favourite area. It is full of sleepy medieval villages on hilltops, surrounded by vineyards. The most known is beautiful Štanjel.

Barbara is a fantastic guide, is extremely knowledgeable, and goes out of her way to provide the best experience showing out of the way treasures. She provided us with a lasting memory of our time in beautiful Slovenia!!
We thought our private all day tour with Barbara was exceptional. She was very easy to communicate with prior to our travels and tailored the tour to our preferences and interests. She was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and engaging, which made it a memorable experience and one of our favorite vacation days. Very highly recommend!
Absolutely loved our tour with Barbara and how she shared her local knowledge. Lunch at a locals' cafe was SO very tasty and we tried all the local dishes. To see the Lipizzaner stallions show was a lifelong dream of mine especially with her added insight. Would highly recommend touring with Barbara.
Barbara is a wonderful guide. She arrived on the dot, and was so informative on the drive to our chosen sites (Hrastovlje, Skocjan caves, Lipica); she knows so much and tailors it to our interests. Barbara chose a lovely local and authentic place to have lunch and helped us choose local specialties. On our return to Ljubljana she even helped organise a taxi for our continuing journey the following day. We cannot praise her highly enough.
We enjoyed our day with Barbara- she shared many historical and geographical details with us . When we finished the Skojan caves early she took us to a village nearby and shared World war stories with us. Helped me with a problem with my camera and guided us to shops in the city for tourist souvenirs . The lunch at the winery was nice and we enjoyed our day with her .
We will need approx. 45min to get to one of the world's most amazing underground caves, the cave of Postojna. - A little train will get us into the heart of the cave and then we will continue on foot for 1h10min explore this underground wonder. There is no place in the cave just barren rock, all is covered with stalagtites, stalagmites, towers etc. The cave is full of huge galleries and halls, there are no small tunnels we would visit. - Only a 10min ride will take us to the next amazing site -the castle of Predjama castle. It is full of legends and mysteries. - We will see it from outside, then continue for 1 hour to get to the beautiful area of Karst. - We'll visit a family-owned prize-winning wine cellar and taste local goodies. - Close-bye there is a hilltop village of Štanjel. We will stroll through this little medieval jewel, visit its famous gardens, learn about its history and enjoy in beautiful views - The ride back to Ljubljana takes 1h. This tour can be customized.
