Overview of your Ljubljana tour
This unique, local heritage tour I suggest to the travellers who would like to get to know more about Slovenia and its capital during the era of socialism or communism as some the travellers call it. Our political system and the position of Slovenia was unique. I would like to share with you, how was it to be young in communist times. As you might know, ex-first lady of USA- Melania, comes from Slovenia and left the country because of the promising future in the West. At the end of the tour, you will understand why Melania and generally, we, the young people from those days, longed to go abroad. I am going to share with you my personal experience: I finished elementary school, high school, first college, got my first job in one of the numerous state-owned companies, travelled around the world, and yet, at the end, came back and started my new career in newly established independent young country Slovenia- today a full member of EU.

We are going to stroll along the unusuall places: - Congress Square, - Republic Square with our Parliament, Monument to the revolution in WWII - Socialist, modern shopping mall and communist Twin towers - Museums Square with the Tomb of Communist Heros, - Ajdovščina area with modern business quarter This is more off the beaten track tour, where the most of the buildings and monuments from Communist times are and are usually not included in a regular walking tour.
