Overview of your Ljubljana tour
Ljubljana's architecture is very interesting. You could say a bit Italian, Venitian, a bit of Austrian, like Vienna or Salzburg. However, there is also something very unique: UNESCO architect Jože (Joseph) Plečnik. He was born over 150 years ago in Ljubljana in my parish of St John the Baptist. He was a misterious, not so well understood person. He had to leave high school in Ljubljana, had to work at his father's workshop, however, with a help of his brother started a brilliant study career and became one of the most famous architects of his period. On our tour, we are going to admire some of his most notable works like Food Market, Three Bridges, National& University Library, Ljubljanica River Banks, Cobbler's Bridge, Open air theatre Križanke. . . Next to that, we will go off the beaten path: to my parish to uncover some hidden treasures that Plečnik loved so much- that was his home as well. Thanks to his talent, Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia became one of the most charming cities in the world
