The spectacular upper Sava valley is situated in Slovenia's far most north-western corner (next to Slovenia-Italy-Austria three border point). It offers magnificent views towards the Julian Alps and it is full of natural attractions, like the unique emerald spring of Balcan's longest river Sava. Besides that, the valley is the ski center of Slovenia, stop for a ski world cup competition for men and birthplace of an odd sport called ski jumping (the area is called Planica and we will visit it). I spent my childhood in this valley because my grandparents lived there. I know a lot about it and I want to share my knowledge of the beauty of this place with you.
We are starting our tour at 9:00. From Ljubjana to upper Sava valley we need 1 hour of drive. Then we will take a look: - Martuljek alpine group panoramic point (photo stop) - Kranjska Gora village (walk and sightseeing of the old town+ski resort) - Jasna lake panoramic point with Goldenhoren memorial (photo stop, Triglav National Park) - Planica Ski jumping center (2nd biggest Ski jump in the world) - Zelenci (Spring of the Sava river) - Pericnik Waterfall - Some free time - Some hiking in pristine nature of the Alps
