(Theory, Blind tasting Practical Service ) from the UNITED STATES SOMMELIER Association at Wine School at Johnson &Wales University AND accredited by the Court Of MASTER SOMMELIER and Gastronomy. After successfully completing two-years at the professional Hotel Beverage School, I Graduated in 1988. I started my career in the Hospitality Industry on the MADEIRA Island, then I moved to MIAMI to work on cruise ships as Sommelier. I went ahead with my career and became HEAD SOMMELIER , responsible for the development of wine lists and delivery of Wine service. Meanwhile, I GRADUATED from the WINE SCHOOL at Johnson & Wales University in Miami and AWARDED FROM the INTERNACIONAL Sommelier CERTIFICATE Foundation Level, by the United States SOMMELIER Association. I kept working on cruise ships until I decided to move to LONDON to 3 Michelin Restaurant for a while and then to go back to Portugal. Overview of your Porto tour
Porto is Portugal's second largest city and was elected Best European Destination 2017. Every year the city attracts thousands of tourists eager to discover the ancient downtown, the typical riverside with colourfully painted houses, to get lost in century old streets, to enjoy the Portuguese cuisine and, of course, to taste wine. You don't need to go a specific winery or vineyard in the Douro Valley to taste the best Portuguese wines (though we strongly recommend you do!). If you're in Porto and haven't planned a trip to the Douro but find yourself in the mood for a Port wine tasting, there are plenty of choices, mainly on the other side of the Douro River, in Gaia. Each visit is different, featuring a tasting room, artesanal cheese or chocolate pairings.

Paolo has to be the greatest tours by local leader of all time. Porto is a beautiful city because of what I saw from Paolo. On the way to the Port cellar's, he gave me a panoramic view, as well as the history of Oporto. His two choices , for a Port lover, were as dynamic and informative as he promised. His knowledge of wine, as well as the unbelievable tours are top notch. The tastings, especially at Graham's, overlooking the city, were something I will never forget. Thanks for giving my Port tour of a lifetime! I hope your son had a happy birthday. Highly recommended for Port Lovers. High recommended for those who want to BE!! Obirgado!

Paulo is an excellent guide. We learned so much about port wine. He drove us out to the ocean first and around the mouth of the river. Then up to the port houses. A nice lunch at the food market where there were many choices. Highly recommend.

Caves Graham's magnificent 1890 Lodge is situated on a commanding ridge in Vila Nova de Gaia across the River and only a few hundred metres from the river's south bank. It affords spectacular views of Porto's historic city centre and the iconic two-tier bridge that connects the two cities . The entire Lodge has been recently renovated by the Symington family and all its original features restored Cockburn's Lodge is the largest wooden Port cellar in the historic area of Vila Nova de Gaia. Holding one of the greatest collections of oak barrels and wooden vats of any Port cellar.
