Hello, I'm Pedro, a passionate and knowledgeable guide based in Porto with over 15 years of experience in the world of wine — and a WSET Level 2 certification to back it up. I specialize in private, personalized tours that blend culture, history, and gastronomy to offer travelers a deeper, more authentic look at Porto and Portugal. Whether we’re strolling through Porto’s historic centre, heading to the Atlantic coast, or exploring the breathtaking Douro Valley, I craft each tour with care, insight, and a genuine love for sharing my country. I work independently (no substitutions), and partner with trusted, insured drivers for private transportation when needed (I might be your driver as well), regarding my huge and safe driving experience. I guide in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, and I’m always happy to tailor the experience to your interests—especially if those interests involve wine and food! My goal is simple: to give you a warm, relaxed, and enriching experience that feels less like a tour, and more like spending the day with a local friend. Let’s discover Portugal's secrets—one story, one glass, and one memorable moment at a time.

Booking THE PORTO ESSENTIALS Wine & Food Tour with me will allow you to discover the secrets behind Portuguese wines & food, as well as how our daily food habits were influenced by our history, geographic location, and shape our culture nowadays. I am a wine & food enthusiast with the WSET level 2 diploma, who grew up side by side with the Portuguese wine industry, dedicating half of my career work and learning with Portugal's most renowned wine producers. I love to study the Portuguese wine and food culture and how this liquid jewel influences the perception of value, tastings, and flavours from Portugal's gastronomical scene. During the tour, you will have the opportunity to travel through Porto's history and culture, taste some traditional and daily finger food (petiscos), as well as learn the perfect pairing for them. Like the most experienced ones still say, in Portugal, the best friendships are born seated at a table, sharing comfort food and a glass of wine - this is what we made for!
- From Carlos Alberto square, the 1st stop is in one of Porto's iconic old taverns to taste "The Rojão". - The charming and old commerce Rua de Cedofeita comes next, where one of Porto's first chapels was built in the 6th century. - Our 2nd stop is at an old church reformed as a wine bar, to savour "The Butter Cheese". - Walking to the 3rd stop, you'll meet the hidden and tiniest house of the city, on the way to the old Jewish neighbourhood, inside the 14th-century medieval walls. On the 3rd stop, you can taste the iconic "Codfish Cake", one of Portugal's seven food wonders. - The next stage is full of stories, through 13th-century streets and a stop at a fantastic sightseeing attraction to explain to you the city's growth. In the 4th stop, "Cachorrinho", Porto's original hot dog, is unmissable. - Visit the iconic Avenida dos Aliados, the city's most famous square. - The 5th stop, "Green Beans Tempura", will bring you from Portugal's gastronomic roots to Japan, where we left a huge gastronomical influence.

This is a walking tour, so we don't have any kind of transportation. Just need some comfort and fresh sneakers/shoes.
