This would be perfect for a few fours stop at "the unconquered city". The Historical Centre of Porto, UNESCO World Heritage, was built along the hillsides overlooking the mouth of the Douro river. It's an astonishing urban landscape with a 2. 000-year history. Located within the line of the 14th century Fernandine wall that we are going to imagine (as only one distinct section remains clearly), we will cross it, from its highest points to its river bank squares, surrounded by narrow winding lanes. We are at the former "Ropemakers' Garden"-a complex of buildings, dated 18th century, arises majestically. Behind, the old Porto Jewish neighbourhood: the Olive neighbourhood. At the opposite hill, called "Battle Square", we can imagine the bohemian 19th century Porto. Here was placed the first Opera House.
