I love my homeland and I feel part of the winding river, the green and blue distant mountains and the endless vineyards that overcome the landscapes in Douro. I'm very knowledgeable about all the aspects related to the Douro Valley and its people. My family has a small production of wine and olive oil, and is responsible for the field work of some other small Douro "Quintas" (Vineyard Estates), so I have a deep knowledge and expertise of how things are done in the Port Wine region. I've done everything that there is to do related to the work in the vineyards. With my experience in a 5 star Hotel (Pestana Palácio do Freixo - Oporto) , and as an Head Waiter of a top restaurant, I may assure you that I will receive you well and will take you to the gastronomic experience that you are looking for. I'm a passionate for history, traditions and legends, since I remember myself and I would appreciate very much to share with you the most interesting ones in Douro. I will take you off the tourist informational grid and give you a insiders view of Douro. I have a different approach about the Douro Valley, it's not all about the wine, there's much more tradition, myths, and unrevealed mysteries that you will love to know. Besides my homeland, I have lived in Madrid, Spain for one year, and in the portuguese cities of Porto, Aveiro, Viseu and Lisboa, so if you want a multiple city tour, I'm definitely someone that could guide you. I may also provide transfers between Porto, Lisboa and the Douro Valley in any direction. I may also do Private tours in Spain.
