(Theory, Blind tasting Practical Service ) from the UNITED STATES SOMMELIER Association at Wine School at Johnson &Wales University AND accredited by the Court Of MASTER SOMMELIER and Gastronomy. After successfully completing two-years at the professional Hotel Beverage School, I Graduated in 1988. I started my career in the Hospitality Industry on the MADEIRA Island, then I moved to MIAMI to work on cruise ships as Sommelier. I went ahead with my career and became HEAD SOMMELIER , responsible for the development of wine lists and delivery of Wine service. Meanwhile, I GRADUATED from the WINE SCHOOL at Johnson & Wales University in Miami and AWARDED FROM the INTERNACIONAL Sommelier CERTIFICATE Foundation Level, by the United States SOMMELIER Association. I kept working on cruise ships until I decided to move to LONDON to 3 Michelin Restaurant for a while and then to go back to Portugal. Here, I started using my knowledge and experience to show my country and its culture to the travellers and I became a private tour guide. Overview of your Porto tour

During the Middle Ages, on the right riverbank, one of the most ancient European cities was born and developed: «O Porto»! Its historical centre is a landscape framework, the result of a harmonious combination of features of the land with the urban structure. Up the hill, the old houses still serve as a home to the local population and mingle with huge manor houses. To visit Porto is to let yourself be surprised. The signs of this «know how to live» are felt in the streets, architecture, monuments, museums, leisure spaces, outdoor cafés and commercial areas. It is a city of poets, sailors, heroes and winners. It gave the name to Portugal and to the most famous wine of the world, PORT WINE! The city was classified as World Heritage by UNESCO in 1996.

We had a fantastic day in Porto thanks to our incredible guide, Paulo! He picked us up right from our cruise ship and took us to some truly amazing sights around the city. One of the highlights was a private tour of Taylor’s wine cellar, which he arranged for us, followed by an unforgettable lunch at a beautiful local spot. Paulo was knowledgeable, warm, and made the whole experience seamless and special. We would highly recommend this tour—and especially Paulo—to anyone visiting Porto. A perfect day!

It was a great tour with Paulo in Porto. At the end of the tour we were in a very good winebar and tasted the famous wines from the Douro Vally. Paulo is very helpful and gave us very good tips. We are happy to recommend him for tours in Porto.

- The tour begins with a drive along the ocean, passing the Cheese Castle, the trendy Foz district, the Arrábida Bridge and the historical centre ( I inform you that the locations in the historic center with the exception of the train station, it is necessary to pay a ticket to visit these places and it also requires time however on the day of the tour there may be changes if possible and if they so wish ) Clérigos Church and Tower, Bookstore Lelo, São Bento Station, Sé Cathedral. - Visit and taste V. N. Gaia Graham's magnificent 1890 Lodge is situated on a commanding ridge in Vila Nova de Gaia across the Douro River from Porto and only a few hundred metres from the river's south bank. -Luch at Afurada village is the youngest parish in the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia. It started out as Furada and its population has always been linked to fishing. And that's why it became known: mainly for sardine fishing and the construction of the first trawlers.
