Hi, my name is João I'm Portuguese, born and raised in this beautiful city of Porto I am a football / soccer fan. I acquired this passion from my grandfather who led me to start playing at a very young age as he was the founder of a team in Lisbon and, due to a knee injury, it took me away from the sport at the age of 19 yo. I had always a passion for history, so after living the practice of sports I applied to History and Arts University where I graduate. Through an invitation of a friend of mine, who is a travel agent and private guide, knowing my passion for history and fluent English speaking, I have been a private tour guide for 8 years now. Due to my acquired experience I have prepared a set of tours for you to choose, all customizable. I also have the ability and the means to easily adjust any program or create a customized itinerary due to your interests, half-day, full-day or even multi-day, all over Portugal, accommodating up to 4 person or bigger groups. Overview of your Porto tour
Just in one day, enjoy the beauty of this two destinations since ever connect due to the wine. Porto, the second largest area in the country and named after Portugal, known not only for the world-renowned port wine but also for the hospitality of its inhabitants and for its good gastronomy. On a tour around the city, you will get to know the most emblematic places and the city in general, from the historical center: Torre Clérigos, S. Bento Station, Sé Cathedral, the beautiful views of the city in the Serra do Pilar, to the seaside town: Matosinhos, Famous for its beach and the typical fish restaurants. Enjoy the beautiful views and landscapes during the drive to Douro. Try to understand the reason why the Douro Valley could also be called Enchanted Valley. Departing from Porto where the river flows, we can meet this landscape, the first demarcated region of the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is here where the world appreciated port wine is produced.
Your Porto tour itinerary
- Pick up at your hotel/rental or any other place in Porto city area. First we go to Porto historic center 'must see places': - Cléricos Tower - Lello Bookshop (Harry Potter) - Allied Avenue and Liberty square - Santa Catarina Street and Majestic Coffee shop - S. Bento train station - Porto Main Cathedral - D. Luis I bridge and D. Maria Pia bridge - Serra do Pilar Monastery and city sight views - Riverside of Gaia - Riverside of Porto - Stock Exchange Market Palace - S Francisco Church - Boavista square and House of Music - City Park and sea side city Matosinhos - River side tour - We will have a break for lunch. (Lunch not included in tour price) - Then we drive to Douro Valley, it takes around 1h15mins. - 1 hour boat tour on Douro River, on the heart of the Valley to enjoy the beautiful landscapes; - Winery visit with wine tastings to one of the best producers of table and port wines. - Return to Porto and drop off at your hotel/rental or in any place you wish. Tour can be customized at your request.

- I will use a modern, medium/high end class private vehicle: a spacious Large station wagon / SUV with A/C, suitable to the service requirements and for a comfortable ride. - If you wish to use a 9 seats Van for up to 4 people, it will have an additional cost of 275,00 EUR due to the use of a larger car with bigger capacity. - I also can accommodate groups ranging in size from 5 to 7 and from 8 to 12.
