Hello, my name is Ricardo, I was born and raised in Porto, so I'm an authentic "tripeiro". I lived in cities such as London, Paris, and later Lisbon, and 10 years ago I returned to Porto, my hometown! I have a degree in Fine Arts, so in addition to being a tourist guide, I am also a creative mind. I've worked in various fields and started my professional activity after university studies, as a teacher in high schools. Later I started working as a freelance graphic designer and page layout, created my brand, and collaborated with various national and international publishers. As an entrepreneur, I had a store selling organic food products, one of the first stores in the city of Porto, one of my greatest challenges!!! In 2017 I changed my area and decided to take a risk, applying for a position as a tour guide with a renowned company in the city. After a year and a half of experience, I felt I could go it alone and create my own experiences. I'm passionate about art, history, culture and gastronomy. Besides loving what I do in tourism or arts, I have another passion which is the ocean, I am a veteran bodyboarder. I have a license from Turismo de Portugal as a tourism animation agent with RNAAT nº1320/2018. I therefore have 6 years' experience as a guide. As a tour guide, I have the CLEAN & SAFE recognition and certification awarded by TURISMO DE PORTUGAL, since I have implemented an internal protocol that, by the recommendations of the Directorate-General for Health, ensures the necessary hygiene to avoid risks of contagion and guarantees safe procedures for your operation. I aim to offer maximum confidence, as well as guarantee compliance with the requirements decreed for the prevention and control of COVID-19. I cannot guide inside museums that offer their guides.

As we embark on this journey together, I will share with you the stories and secrets behind some of the most emblematic places and buildings we'll encounter. With my background in fine arts, I'm eager to delve into aspects that are essential for understanding the rich history, vibrant culture, and exquisite art of this nearly 900-year-old city. Along our path, we'll take several moments to pause, allowing you to take in the fantastic viewpoints over the city and its surroundings, each offering its unique perspective and beauty. As we weave through the city's streets and alleys, I'll share narratives that breathe life into the stones and structures around us, connecting us to the past in a way that's both engaging and enlightening. I aim to make history and art accessible, revealing the layers of stories and craftsmanship that have shaped this place over centuries.
