Coimbra, the "City of Students" and it's University, one of the oldest universities in the world, famous for its baroque library, and it's 18th century bell tower. The beautiful city of Aveiro known as the 'Portuguese Venice' due to the canals that cross the entire city. A boat trip on the traditional 'moliceiro' boat and, on a pleasant walk through the historic center to taste the traditional sweets made from the egg yolk 'Soft Eggs'. In a strip of land between the Vouga River and the Atlantic, we will find Costa Nova colored part of the Portuguese coast. This beach is characterized by wooden houses streaked with white and bright colors, formerly old haystacks that served as a warehouse and shelter for fishermen. Let's enjoy a beautiful day discovering this two unique cities!!!
I highly recommend booking a private tour with Antonio. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional and we truly enjoyed our day trip to Coimbra and Aveiro. We especially enjoyed our lunch at a local restauarant where the specialty was suckling pig.
We would give Antonio a higher rating than a 5 if it was possible! Antonio is very professional, personable and thoughful. We loved seeing Coimbra and he gave us great information and was patient with our questions. We had a wonderful lunch with local food. In Aveiro we enjoyed the boat tour and stopping in a few stores and he did not rush us. It was a perfectly lovely day. We highly recommend Antonio!

We'll start by meeting at your hotel/rental in Porto city area. - Drive to Coimbra, around 1hour and 15 minutes. - City of Coimbra: Santa Clara Monastery; University Complex - one of the oldest universities in the world and its famous baroque Library Break Lunch, 2 suggested options: Mealhada for the traditional suckling baby pig, or Aveiro for the best Codfish - City of Aveiro: Costa nova - Visit to the traditional fishing village Historic center: Walk trough the biggest concentration of 'Art Noveaux' buildings in Europe.
