Hello, My Name is Rui Pedro and I'm a private guide, based at this beautiful city of Porto. I have been a private tour guide for 8 years now. Always been a passionate about history and despite having worked as a Business Manager for more than 15 years, the performance of this function allowed me to travel to several countries in Europe and South America, even living some time in Brazil and London. This contact with diverse cultures and different people, coupled with my passion for history and my ability to communicate, gave me a knowledge base that allows me to play naturaly my role as a tour guide. Apart my passion, I love my country and my city of Porto, so beautiful and rich in historic facts, well knowned for its wine, its gastronomy, and its frendly people, considered World heritage by UNESCO. In this 6 hours tour , visit the beautiful city of Porto, the second largest in the country and named after Portugal, known not only for the world-renowned port wine but also for the hospitality, history and for its good gastronomy. On a tour around the city, you will visit the most emblematic 'must see' places and the city in general, from the historical center: Clérigos Tower, Lello Library (Harry Potter), S. Bento train station, Main Cathedral (Sé), the beautiful views of the city at Serra do Pilar and the river side area. Then In a drive along the river to the seaside city Matosinhos, passing by the elegant area of 'Foz', famous for its beach and the typical fish restaurants. After a relaxed lunch in a Traditional Portuguese Restaurant with seaside views, we will drive by the biggest avenue in Porto: Boavista avenue where we can see the famous 'House of Music' connecting the city center to the sea and you also will have the opportunity to visit a Port wine lodge, with wine tasting with cheeses
Pedro was fantastic! He has such a passion for his city and shared so much (but not too much) about Portugal’s history. There were too many highlights to mention but we received a great tour of Porto. The Port tasting was amazing and the lunch was so delicious - it made it hard to eat dinner later. It was a wonderful day - thank you Pedro!! We strongly recommend this tour!

You need to live in a city ALL of your life to have the intimate knowledge Rui has of Porto. We were well introduced to Porto, and Portugal, during our day with him. His ability to traverse the narrow city streets made every minute of our day count. His prompt arrival and relaxed manner made us comfortable right away. And there was the seafood lunch, wow!
We all really enjoyed the tour. Rui Pedro has so much knowledge on the history of Porto. He is fluent in English and an excellent communicator. He showed us almost all of the highlights and the pace was very comfortable. In fact, we were having such a great time, we were late for our lunch. Lunch was fabulous too. I highly recommend this guide and tour.
Our guide was extremely conscientious of trying to limit walking since my husband can only walk 1-2 miles before running into a physical problem. Given the amount of hills & limited parking, Rui Pedro would go get the car to pick us up after we'd seen a particular area & then he'd continue on for the other areas. This was critical & much appreciated else we would have missed seeing Porto up close & personal. I wish we'd had another day in Porto & would have loved to have him show us around Lisbon!
Rui was friendly, had excellent English speaking and understanding skills. He was knowledgeable, personable, and delightful to be around. Most importantly, Rui is passionate about his Porto. He is also sensitive to the needs of his clients and offered assistance and accommodations when needed. By the end of our tour, we had a new friend.
