We had just completed a Rick Steves tour through the Heart of Portugal and had one more day before heading home from Porto. We decided we wanted to see Braga and Guimaraes so we booked this tour with Ricardo. He picked us up in the morning at our hotel and we had the best time. He was fun and knowledgeable and went out of his way to give us an excellent experience that felt tailored just for us. He shared interesting information about the countryside on the drive and great details about the things we were seeing in each city. Prior to our time with him, he had also offered to answer any questions about things to do in Porto and made some great suggestions. On the day of our tour with him we were exhausted from our trip and it was raining. None of that mattered once we set off with Ricardo. We would highly recommend him as a guide.

My name is Ricardo Manuel and I was born and raised in Porto City. Although tourism changed Porto for the best (in my opinion) for the last 5 years, me and my family had to move out from Porto, into the bush, housing and living costs became very high and we made the choice that we should move out to the countryside. In this last year 2020 and even in 2021 with a pandemic, work just fell down drastically and we had to adapt. Making Port Wine, Muscat Wine and sometimes olive oil in a amatuer way since 2014, this hobbie become my family income. With vineyards and olives fields almost abandoned from the pandemic I rolled up my sleeves and went to work, asking neighbours and friends if I could keep their grapes and olives for harvest time, their answers were immediately YES Dividing my life between Porto and Douro Valley, me and my family feel completely safe, happy and relaxed with this new way of living. Ricardo is an exceptional guide who went above and beyond during our 2 days spent with him in Porto and Douro Valley. Very knowledgeable and took us to local restaurants, highlights of Porto, his friends winery for port tasting, Douro valley boat ride with a surprised feast. He even bought pastries and gifts for kids! Such an enjoyable trip he planned for us in such a short time. He was punctual, responded to emails quickly and goes out his way to please everyone.
We can highly recommend this very informative and enjoyable tour of Porto. The fact we were on E-bikes made it a lot more easy and Ricardo proved a very talkative and pleasant tourguide. In fact, we had the luxury of 2 tourguides as 'Fred' joint us and added to the relaxed atmosfere of this tour. We ended the tour with a drink, a bite and a chat. We could not have asked for more.
