Take only the Wieliczka Salt Mine or Auschwitz-Birkenau, which together with the Krakow's Old Town is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. In addition, after just 2 hours of driving you can find yourself in the Polish Tatras mountains with such a different culture and taste that characterizes Polish highlanders. The Wieliczka Salt Mine is one of the main reasons that made me become a guide. I have traveled a lot in my life. Finally, I realized that one of the most beautiful attractions in the world is close to me and I would like to show it to other travelers. Wieliczka salt mine is one of the most popular and most frequently visited tourist attractions in Poland. It is also one of Europe's oldest industrial enterprises which have operated continuously since the 13th century! The tourist route in Salt Mine is 3. 5 kilometers long and leads through over twenty beautifully decorated chapels, charming underground lakes, and well-preserved traces of mining operations. When you decide to go to Wieliczka with me, you choose an option that is more personalized and focused on you than other tours you will find. My company is not only about picking you up from your hotel. The tour itself inside the mine, unfortunately, cannot be private. You have to join a group tour guided by a licensed person provided by Salt Mine
The tour was interesting and informative, with a side-trip tour of the village from which my great-grandparents emigrated to the USA. Alex was very informative and helpful, adding insights as well as attending to our every need. Prior to the village tour, Alex researched it and found some interesting information; it's a village almost no one would have interest in seeing were it not for ancestry! I can certainly recommend him to anyone wanting to tour the Krakow area.
We had Alex for our 2nd day tour and again, he was early and full of life and information about Poland. It was wonderful to spend time with him. The Salt Mines were so unique and we were so glad we chose to do this tour. And that we chose Alex. Toursbylocals is a wonderful concept.
