The "Wieliczka" Salt Mine is an extraordinary place - hidden from the world, full of secrets and legends. This place is spectacular, and everything was made by human hands. If you want to see this with your own eyes, join me for a stroll through the underground. Let's meet the Mine of Mysteries by choose a route to discover the secrets hidden deep underground. You will admire landscapes that can't be found on the surface: as saline lakes and beautiful underground chambers, including the unique St Kinga's Chapel. You will learn about old mining tools and machines and the methods of salt extraction and transport used in the past. Find out what the Wieliczka Mine has to offer to millions of visitors from all over the world. ***Attention! : The route includes approx. 800 stairs, 320 of which are at the start. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing according to the conditions on the route. The temperature underground falls within the range of 17-18ºC.
Travel from Kraków to the Wieliczka Salt Mine and explore this underground world with a half-day tour. Upon arriving at the mine, you will descend more than 380 steps to get to the first level, 210 feet (64 meters) below the ground. Your guide will provide you with insight into the mysteries of the mine, the people who have worked there, and the powers of nature that have ruled the mine. You will then see 20 chambers, including the most beautiful one, St. Kinga's Chapel. This is an underground church that will enchant you with its carvings, altars, and monuments sculpted in salt. Allow yourself to be mesmerized by the wonderful spectacle on the bank of one of the salt lakes inside the mine as music from Chopin plays overhead. Then head to the third level, 443 feet (135 meters) below the surface, before riding a lift back to the top.
