Welcome to Osaka and a wonderful region of Japan. Osaka is near Kyoto, the original capital of the country. The history of the two is intertwined through culture and food. In some ways trendy and in others traditional, the region offers many opportunities to learn, observe, and taste a wide variety of local cuisine. I have lived for over 20 years outside the USA, including time in Europe, Hong Kong, and now Japan. I am an opera singer and professor of music by profession, and I strive to make my tours both informative and fun. I can lead tours in English, German, Italian, and Spanish. Although I am based in Osaka, I can easily guide tours throughout the region, including Kyoto, Arashiyama, and Nara. I also offer several hiking tours into the foothills of Osaka in the Minoh Park area. Enjoy being led by an experienced guide as you explore the highlights of Osaka. A must-see is the iconic Osaka Castle and its park. Let the guide explain the architecture and colorful history, including family histories and power plays. Then move on to the famous Lion Temple, where you can pray for better business and financial results! Next is Dotonbori, with its canal, shops, street food, and the nearby crowded Shinsaibashi district.
