From Osaka to Hiroshima and Miyajima island full-day Tour

The reality of what happened at Hiroshima is incredibly sad, as it is easy to ignore or forget when it isn’t in front of you. Touring Hiroshima, the surrounding Peace Memorial Park and museum with Hiroko made that reality easier to accept. She was gracious and kind, and was able to tell us important stories. She asked us questions that not only made us reflect on the events of the 1940s, but also how to see those things from a Japanese perspective. As for Miyajima, all I can say is it is absolutely stunning and a must see. Hiroko is a wonderful guide who carefully thinks through every step of the journey, accommodates any and all needs, and makes sure you can get where you need to be without issue. We had a lovely day with her and highly recommend her tour. She speaks English exceptionally well and was always easy to communicate with (both during and prior to the tour).

We had a full day of Japan history, started with beautiful train ride on the bullet train, great scenery timing of all connections smooth transition and estimation allowing for unexpected distraction, or desire to expand the different spots of interest. Started at the epic center of the atomic bomb explosion, then walked over to the actual planned target(river) exposing the destruction at the Domb, then shared how the city recovered, pay honor to those who were lost and suffered in the peace garden, eternal flame, and the yearly and daily remembrance. The day was wrapped up at the Itsukushima Shrine at low tide, allowing us to walk out and touch the red pillars. Delightful lunch and I got to see the many deer that wonder the island. Our knowledge of the shrine and Hiroshima, was definitely expanded at a reasonable rate offering time to soak in the history and culture

Hiroko was the best! She knows so much and including Pokemon stuff! The museum was closed but she made it worth while by introducing us to an Eutero-survivor. The train, ferry and speed boat broke the long trip into adventures. Thank you Hiroko. From : Babs, Pete, Mac and Angela.

Hiroko did a fantastic job on this tour. Our many questions were answered well and we managed a lot in a short space of time. A very good explanation of an historical point in world history and a lesson for life moving forward.
