Osaka 7 Hour Driving Tour with Modern Art (Van)

Our cruise ship didn’t offer any excursions to Himeji Castle from the port in Osaka, so I researched tours on this site for a private car to get us there and back. I chose Hiro’s tour because he said it was customizable and he responded quickly and clearly. I am so happy I chose him. Hiro has very good communication skills. He made sure he could accommodate us, and told us up front the extra costs for tolls, gas, parking, admission, etc. The tour was outstanding! He picked my wife and I up from the cruise terminal in a very comfortable car, then drove us all the way to Himeji castle (on the crazy confusing Osaka highway system) - along the way we talked about Japan, travel and baseball. Once at the castle he walked with us all the way to the top of the main keep, helped read the signs, told us history, took pictures of us, etc. On the way back, he drove us through Kobe. He asked if we wanted to stop for lunch - my wife wanted ramen, I wanted to try Kobe beef. Hiro drove downtown and quickly found the perfect place… a cute little restaurant that served Kobe beef ramen…and omg was that good. He couldn’t have found a better spot. Hiro is a very nice guy who was eager to anticipate and accommodate our needs. We definitely recommend his tours.

Hiro was absolutely wonderful from start to finish! He picked my friend and me up directly from our hotel and thoughtfully planned our day around the summer weather so we could avoid spending too much time in the intense heat. His car was spotless, comfortable, and such a welcome relief after we had walked miles the day before and were definitely feeling it! Throughout the tour, Hiro brought every destination to life. He didn't just show us the sights—he shared the history, explained the cultural significance, and taught us so many fascinating things we never would have discovered on our own. His passion for what he does is evident in every detail, and it's clear that he genuinely cares about creating an unforgettable experience for each of his guests. Since my friend and I love trying new things, Hiro gave us several fantastic lunch options. We decided on fugu (blowfish), and it ended up being one of the best meals we've ever had! His local knowledge and recommendations made the entire day feel personalized, authentic, and incredibly memorable. More than anything, Hiro was kind, professional, and genuinely invested in making sure we had the best possible experience. If you're looking for someone who goes above and beyond to create a fun, informative, and seamless tour, I can't recommend him highly enough. I already can't wait to come back to Japan and book another tour with him—hopefully very soon!

This was an outstanding tour through Osaka given by Hiro! He was knowledgeable, friendly and showed great care toward my mother. He kept the pace at an appropriate level to allow breaks to rest through the day. We both very much appreciated his knowledge and interest in architecture and how Osaka has changed over years. Hiro lead us on an insiders view of Osaka which we enjoyed immensely. From a Birds Eye perch atop a 40 story building to situate ourselves and view the impressive urban landscape, we subsequently visited the Dotonbori ‘s infinite choice of food offerings. Included was a stop for notching and matcha to refresh ourselves. Along the way we learned some Japanese, and compared notes on culture and practices in the west and the east. All in all Hiro proved to be a thoughtful and engaging host and charming representative of Osaka. We would do it again with Hiro and we will remember our time with him fondly and for a long time. Hiro speaks English exceptionally well and there was no communication barriers whatsoever. Thanks to our hero, Hiro!

Hiro is an excellent guide with a lot of knowledge and history of Osaka. He was also very flexible in customizing the trip to suit our needs and priorities. Overall, we were very satisfied with the way he covered the important places in Osaka in 4 hours.
