Private Full Day Osaka Tour

Ichi may be the best personal tour guide I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Joyful, knowledgeable, passionate about Osaka, and always considering the best service possible for customer. His enthusiasm is infectious. Ichi took my wife and I around Osaka, to both popular sites and the in-the-know only a local would know about. His explanation of the history of Japan was a masterclass a professor at a university would admire. We traversed the city, visiting everything from Osaka Castle to a buddhist ceremony to the many markets, while Ichi taught us how to count to 10 in Japanese. After a few hours we considered Ichi more of a friend instead of a tour guide. He is so happy and engaging that you can't help but smile and enjoy your day. Look at the reviews, all 5.0. That's all you need to know about Ichi, a wonderful individual who I wished we could spend more time with. When we were done for the day he insisted on walking me ALL the way back to the hotel, even though it was way past his alloted time and I knew my way back. If you don't select Ichi for a day you are missing an experience. Hands down the highlight of our trip, we miss him terribly. Do yourself a favor and choose Ichi, he is the best!

Ichi-san is one of the best guides we've ever had. He communicated with us in advance and crafted an agenda that reflects our preferences. He was on time and prepared. His English is excellent and he spoke clearly. He took us to several temples and shrines with cultural significance that are off the usual tourist paths. He gave detailed explanations on each site weaving in historical facts, contemporary takes, and cultural information. As we moved from site to site, we had robust discussions on Japanese culture and daily life. We were able cover a large area as Ichi-san had a clear plan for the day and always knew the shortest walking path, the right subway and train with the shortest wait time and most direct route. As it was a warm and humid day, Ichi-san gave us cooling wipes, something that we didn't even know we needed. He was just so thoughtful throughout the day. He took us to an authentic local restaurant with Osaka specialities. He escorted us back to our hotel and walked us to our elevator before saying goodbye. As we have a couple more days in Osaka, he sent us a follow-up message with recommendations on additional sites and neighborhoods. We have already recommended Ichi-san to several friends and family members who have upcoming trips to Japan. We would also consider visiting Osaka again just to have more time with Ichi-san, perhaps an evening tour of nightlife or a tour of outlying areas. Thank you Ichi-san for the most memorable day of our trip. We will see you again!

My 22 year old son and I (58 year old) absolutely loved the 8 hour tour. Ichi san was kind, knowledgeable, and communicated extremely well. Even before the tour started, he gave instructions and tips on which train to take from Kyoto. We never would have seen as much as we saw of Osaka in one day had it not been for Ichi san’s expert guidance. He was very attentive and made sure to ask if we needed restroom breaks and whether we were ok with continuing to walk. He also talk us how to count in Japanese and did a fun origami lesson. At the end he was so kind to drop us off at the train station and made sure we were on the right train. I would highly recommend Toichi for ANY tour that you’re considering and would not hesitate to take another tour with him again. Our Osaka tour guide, Toichi “Itchi”, made the entire experience feel personal and special from the very first moment. He didn’t just recite facts—he connected with each of us, remembered little details, and turned the day into something that felt tailor-made for our group. One of the funniest is the way he made up a story and to taught us how to count in Japanese. He also brought out prizes for the best attempts at writing Japanese characters and for origami. It was such a thoughtful touch—competitive, creative, and genuinely fun. Watching everyone try their best (and fail gloriously in the most adorable ways) made the whole group bond even more. We couldn’t have imagined a better start to our Japan adventure. Toichi set the tone for the entire trip: warm, engaging, full of laughter, and full of heart. If you’re looking for a guide in Osaka who makes you feel like a friend rather than a tourist, Toichi “Itchi” is the one. Highly, highly recommend!

Ichi was amazing. Very knowledgeable about Osaka. It was so so hot, so we needed lots of hydration spots. Ichi was so patient with us. He specifically took us to a Ramen restaurant as that is what our 16 year wanted. He was also brilliant at explaining the transportation system to us, so we felt confident to find our way to Kyoto the next day. One of the things I appreciated the most was how communicative he was before and after the tour. He really cared. Would definitely recommend.

Ichi was more than a great guide, he truly finished our trip on the highest level possible. We had a lot of great guides on this trip. We made a lot of friends. Ichi is everything you can want in a guide. He was early to pick us up and made sure we had a great time all day. He helped get us to dinner and provided support to make our train. He was continually altering our day to better suit our needs. He is in high demand so book early. Ichi is one of the best guides I have ever had and my only regret is he was already booked for the other days we were in Osaka. Going forward a trip to Osaka will not be complete without spending time with Ichi.
