The personalized experience with Khalid was fantastic. Khalid was on time to start the tour (a few minutes early actually). He was extremely personable, easy and fun to talk with. The tour was very well structured and efficient. We moved easily through all the destinations without feeling rushed. The restaurants and food selections that Khalid had chosen for the tour were awesome. The vibe of the restaurants were as varied as the types and flavors of the food. Khaild's knowledge of Osaka, it's history and culture completed the overall experience nicely. We would 10 / 10 seek Khalid out for another tour in the future.

What a fantastic tour! Khallid was an exceptional guide — friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about Osaka, its culture, and especially its food scene. His English was excellent, and he shared a tremendous amount of interesting insight about the city, local neighborhoods, and the history behind many of the dishes we tried. My wife has several dietary restrictions, and Khallid accommodated them seamlessly and without hesitation, thoughtfully tailoring the experience while still making it feel authentic and exciting. The food was outstanding. We sampled a wide variety of dishes and visited places we never would have discovered on our own. A tour with Khalid is a wonderful way to experience the energy, character, and eclectic dining culture that makes Osaka so special. It was one of the highlights of our trip.

Our evening in Osaka with Khalid through Tours By Locals was equal parts cultural tour and elite competitive eating event (we happily lost). We kicked things off in Dotonbori, where Khalid led us straight to what might be the best takoyaki on planet Earth. I’m still emotionally attached to those octopus balls and may never recover. Between bites, Khalid sprinkled in fun history and local stories so we could pretend we were learning and not just eating nonstop. Next stop: Temma, a super local neighborhood we would never have found on our own. This is where we had Osaka-style okonomiyaki that made us seriously question every pancake we’ve ever eaten before. Life-changing. Then came a walk through Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Street, the longest shopping street in Japan. We strolled, snacked, browsed, and basically lived our best local life in Osaka. At this point we were convinced Khalid had a secret superpower for finding incredible food every 10 minutes. We ended the evening with the best skewers ever, and honestly, we rolled back to our hotel happier (and fuller) than we thought humanly possible. If you want a guide who is knowledgeable, funny, and dangerously good at finding amazing food, book Khalid. Just come hungry. Very, very hungry.

Khalid is a fantastic tour guide and we would not hesitate to recommend him. His food tour was superb, we went to many small restaurants and eateries in both tourist and non-tourist areas. This isn’t just a food tour, it is also a great way to see diverse parts of this incredible city. We also enjoyed Khalid’s perspective on Japan and the Japanese people, as he wasn’t born in Japan, he moved here a number of years ago ago. His English is first and he is kind, considerate and thoughtful. He is a wonderful tour guide.

Khalid is an absolutely wonderful tour guide. We met him near our ship and he took us to the castle to view it from the outside. It was beautiful and worth the trip. After that, we went on our food tour, which was spectacular. Everything was delicious, even for me as a lifelong vegetarian. Khalid make sure I had enough to eat and I appreciated that very much. He knew we wanted to buy Japanese whiskey so he allowed us to stop at a specialty shop where we could bring great quality bottles back home for Christmas giving. Don’t think twice about hiring Khalid. He’s excellent and you will have a great time with him and your taste buds will be overjoyed!

Khalid was wonderful-cheerful, energetic, yet sensitive to my sister's need for a slower walking pace due to a recent hip replacement. Our takoyaki were hot and tasty, freshly made as we watched. The okoknomiyaki place was a hidden gem tucked in down a walkway maybe 10 ft wide, and yummy yakitori and a soft serve dessert near the Osaka Tower finished the food offerings. From there we visited a nearby knife shop, where I picked up a functional souvenir for my kitchen to remind me of our great day! All in about 4 hours! HIGHLY recommended!
