Hi! My name is Yoriko. I was born and brought up in Osaka in Japan. Now I have a family with my husband, one son and one daughter. I have an experience to live in New York for 4 years, which gave me a chance to see Japan from outside. I want to give overseas guests correct information on Japanese history and culture with best hospitality, which can be obtained only by a national licensed tour guide. If you are interested in both modern and old Osaka, this would be a perfect tour for you. In addition to historical places like Osaka castle and Shitennoji temple, why don't you explore small streets of Sennichi-mae area near Namba (one of the downtown areas in Osaka)? You can greet a small Buddhist statue beautifully covered with green moss, loved by many Osakans, just in the center of lively city. Along the "Doguya-Suji" street, everything for cooking in Japan is sold. From small items as chopsticks to giant pot pan for professional use. Paper goods beautifully made with Japanese paper are also sold here. Plastic samples of Japanese food are displayed. These area will make you feel something of good old days of Japan. If you move to Umeda (another downtown of Osaka), you will feel something refined compared to Namba. Umeda sky building will give you a panoramic view from the height of 137m.
Yoriko was a wonderful, thoughtful guide. Her knowledge of Japanese history and the Buddhist traditions was impressive. We also had the pleasure of her guidance in Kyoto. She made great suggestions for lunch each day. She helped plan our day and helped maximize our touring experience by suggesting a private car for our tour.
Yoriko is the perfect guide for Osaka and Kyoto. She knows how to arrange the itinerary to visit the sites requested. Her knowledge of history is easily understood. She knows exactly which spots are the best for taking photos. In addition, she is kind and takes great care of her clients. Plus, she really knows how to get around the cities to maximize time.

Yoriko toured our group of 4 adults around Osaka (Osaka Castle, etc) using public transportation (subway/metro, tramway). She spoke excellent English, was very knowledgeable & went the extra mile to ensure we saw the "important" sights. We had a fun day with her & learned a lot.

Yoriko San gave us a really nice city tour of Osaka. We are a big group with kids and she handled our group well. She gave us time for photo taking since she knew our group liked taking photos! She also took us to nice photo spots! She gave us details/information of the tour sites we have visited too! Overall, we enjoyed our tour with her!
*Osaka Castle Take a look at the grandeur of SAMURAI (Japanese worrier). Great photo spot. If you like to enter the castle tower, we can go up to the top observatory (if time permits) *Shitennoji Temple Walk around in the temple complex - good example of ancient temple layout. If you like Japanese garden, we can also walk. (depending on the temple schedule) *Umeda Sky Building We will go up the 173m by see-thru elevator and escalator. Exciting if you like high places. *Douguya-suji street Street with Japanese cooking items. From a small spoon to a giant pan. They sell small kitchen items at reasonable prices. *Sennichimae area Place with a lot of small shops, restaurants, cafes and so on. Usually very busy but it is nice to walk on a stone-paved street of Hozenj Alley. just in the center of the area, you can pray and pour water over the FUDO statue beautifully covered with green moss.

We will basically use train and subways. Please note that many of the sites are not close to the nearest station. For example, we need to walk at least 20 minutes from the station to the Osaka Castle Tower. It is advisable to use taxis for some parts. Or if you like to have a private car, please contact me.
