Hello! Thank you for reading my profile. My name is Hitomi. I lived in foreign countries for over 8 years, such as US, Canada, France, Australia, Singapore and Spain. I love traveling like you do. Besides traveling, I enjoy drawing, painting, cycling, cooking and eating delicious food! I was born in Kagoshima, grew up in Miyazaki and now live in Fukuoka(all in Kyushu island!). What I love about Kyushu island is that people are friendly, it's not too crowded and the nature is beautiful. And most importantly the food is delicious! We have fresh fish, seafood, meat and so many kinds of delicious dishes! I got my guide license in 2017 and I've been working as a guide since. I love this job because I get to meet people from all over the world. Learning new languages and getting touch with other cultures inspires me. I find every tour is different and unique, and for me this job is very challenging and fun! My wish is simple that you go home with lots good and fun memories. Please let me be a part of it! Come green tea lovers! We visit Yame, one of the most known places for green tea.
Overview of your Fukuoka tour
In this tour, we visit Yame city which is known for high quality of green tea. We first visit Yame Tea Museum in Hoshino which is located in the mountainous area of Yame. There you can experience Temomi-cha (hand roll green tea making). We take a break and have lunch or dessert while you enjoy the beautiful nature around. Enjoy shopping for greentea at a shop. Then we visit Yame traditional crafts center to experience Japanese paper(washi) making. You can make original postcards, bookmarks or business cards. In this center you also get to see the biggest stone lantern, paper lantern and buddhist altar in Japan. Our last destination is an observation deck to see the amazing scenery of tea plantation. *This tour is not available on Mondays and Tuesdays. The order of visiting places changes depends on the reservation for Temochi-cha experience. *It takes about 1 hour to visit Yame from Fukuoka by car.
