Overview of your Fukuoka tour
You will visit highlights of Fukuoka just in 6 hours by using a private mini van. Dazaifu Tenmangu shrine enshrines Sugawara Michizane who was born early 10th century and was a child prodigy. After his death, he was believed to be the first human being to be a deity, the deity of education. Now many people visit the shrine wishing for their academic achievement. Fukuoka tower is located in the seaside area of Fukuoka. You'll see a nice beach nearby for photoes. Tochoji Temple was originally established 801 by Kukai who is a founder of Singo Sect or esoteric Buddhism. You can see a huge wooden sitting Buddhist statue in the main hall.

It was a pleasure being guided by Kayoko in the Fukuoka and Hakata region. She is very kind and knowledgeable, her English is excellent (in fact, she also works as an English teacher) and we liked a lot that she showed us areas „off the beaten track“ (e.g. Japanese family life on a Sunday morning during cherry blossom season). We had a great time touring with Kayoko! We toured both a Shinto shrine and a Buddhist temple and she was so knowledgeable in explaining the philosophies of each as well as the practicalities of being a follower and the history of everything we were seeing. We really enjoyed spending time with her and also appreciated her guiding us through a local ramen experience! It was nice having the private transport - we were able to see more than we otherwise would have and the driver was always ready and waiting when it was time to move to the next location. If we ever return to Fukuoka, I would definitely want to tour with Kayoko again!

Kayoko was a wonderful choice for our tour guide in Fukuoka. Her spoken English was very good and written communication excellent. I contacted her several times before our tour and always received prompt replies. She planned a great itinerary for our visit, and was flexible with our group members (6) when the weather didn’t cooperate. We requested transportation for the day and had the most clean and comfortable van, for which we were very grateful when it rained. in spite of the foul weather, she took us to some amazing places. we also enjoyed asking her questions about local culture, economy, education, and healthcare. I would highly recommend Kayoko and would use her again, given the opportunity.

Please ask the current cost of a van BEFORE booking. If the tour duration exceeds 6h, you are charged another 2,570yen/30min. If you use a taxi, the cost is around 25% less.
