Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter Basilica
Overview of your Rome tour
For a first time in Rome a visit of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter Basilica is mandatory. Come with me to explore the origin of the Catholic world, all started here in the 64 A. D. when St Peter died under the first persecutions of the emperor Nero. The Basilica was built twice on his tomb, the Popes came to live in a fortress by the side and turned it in a case of treasures made by the genius of their times. Galleries, courtyards, beautiful rooms crowded by ancient statues, mosaics, tapestries and frescoes with maps made in the '500 of the Italian Peninsula. Take this itinerary up to the Sistine Chapel, one of the most well known jewel of the Renascence. The Tour ends with a visit of St Peter Basilica, a miracle of architecture in use since 400 years, and with an amazing view over St Peter square, where you will be part of a huge hug inside the colonnades of the Mother Church of Rome.

Really enjoyed the tour of Vatican given by Lia. The explanations helped to understand exhibitions and Lia is very knowledgeable, highlighting most relevant artworks and objects, allowing for deeper understanding of Vatican from historical perspective, meanwhile emphasizing the beauty of the art and architecture. It was very helpful to receive full explanation about history and paintings of Sistine Chapel beforehand from Lia, since inside we should not be talking, really appreciated. I certainly have much better understanding of Vatican history after this tour. The huge advantage of this tour is priority entrance, we didn’t wait at all, from meeting Lia to the museum was just few minutes. Lia provided us with choices based on our interest where to go and what to see, it is very helpful.
