Ciao! Let me introduce myself: I am Silvia P. a licensed tourist guide of Rome and Vatican City. I am class '74 I am married and I have a 10 years old son. How does it get better than that? Well it does with my job! My husband is french and we lived in London for a while but he once said to me that me without Rome. . . not working. . it is like I need my air!!! Guiding has been my full time job for the past 26 years. . . . and I just love it. I am passionate about what I do and my goal is for my clients to be able to fall in love with Rome the way I do. After all the experience in the field and the knowledge I have cultivated I feel confident to say that I am the most reliable person to help you plan your stay in Rome. I like to call myself a Concierge guide: giving you advices and guidance not only about the tours and the best time to visit the main sites in terms of crowds and weather, but also helping you with tips only a local can give. . . where is the best Gelato? or the best Pizza? Whether you want to dive in history and art or catch the more glamorous side of Rome, if your holiday is about having fun with your kids. . . I am your guide! I can arrange all sorts of tours, if there is something you are curious about, or you have heard of but it is not listed. . . send me an email and I will help you make it happen. All my tours are with skipping the lines tickets and timing can change for the tours depending on the season and the day I will advice you in what is best for you. In high season in order to confirm the tour I need to check tickets availability first. My number one priority is to give you a memorable experience of Rome and help you make the most of your time here. Tourist guide License 2000 Majored in Anthropology in 2004 I am not a driver. I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Often we say Rome is build in layers. It is true and with this tour you will find out why. When we think about Rome's undergound two main sites are coming to mind: the Catacombs and St Clement's Basilica. Rome's soil is vulcanic easy to dig, it is this peculiarity that allowed the ancient romans to develop a system of undergound burials called Catacombs. During the tour we will unveil a lot of misconseption about the history of the Catacombs. My husband worked here for few years and one of my friends for more than 23 years, they have trained me to give this tour. . . . no worries we will come out from the tunnels. . In 1857 Father Mullooly, Prior of the Church, started excavations underground St Clement's Basilica discovering the first layer underneath belonging to the IV century AD, consequently excavations continued and led to an even more ancient level of the I century AD. The visit of this incredible site is the best to understand what means the expression: Rome is built in layers.
- The Catacombs of Domitilla - St Clement Basilica - Bath of Caracalla-drive by - Colosseum - drive by All Churches in Rome have a dressing code: knees and shoulders have to be covered, you can have shorts but up to the knees and bring a jacket to cover your shoulders If you are claustrophobic this tour might be challenging, we will spent around 45 minutes underground on each site. There are also several steps to go up and down, to be considered if you have mobility issues. Contact me to customise the tour.
