Hello, my name is Alessandra and I was born and grew up in Rome - a true local! I graduated in 1995 with a degree in Art History and have worked in art communication ever since. In developing didactic projects I've collaborated with Universities, Museums and Government Agencies. Most importantly, I spent several years at the MACRO (Museo Arte Contemporanea Roma) followed by even more years at the Trajan Markets (Imperial forums Museum). So, as you can see my interests in art range from the far past to the immediate present. For the past seven years I've worked as a private tour guide and I love it. I believe a walk through Rome is a walk through time, from the earliest settlement on the Palatine to the still busy artisan neighborhoods, from the Christian churches to the Jewish Ghetto. I specialize in tailor-made tours for first time or repeat visitors seeking more in depth knowledge of the city. I enjoy working with families and children and have had great experiences with tourists who have mental or physical disabilities as well. ". . only in Rome do you really get to know Rome. . " J. W. Ghoethe Italian Journey, 1786-1788. Strolling through this ever surprising city aided by maps, drawings, photos and writings of each historical period, we'll penetrate and truly experience Rome! I am licensed tour guide of Rome with a degree in Art History . I spent several years at the MACRO (Museo Arte Contemporanea Roma) followed by even more years at the Trajan Markets (Imperial Forum Museum) In December 2018 I successfully completed the course: "Fundamentals of Extraordinary Tour Leading" I can organize a customized tours (full day or half day) with luxury private car and driver. I have no limitations of any kind and I can access any place of cultural interest and guide you in any of the languages I am proficient in. If my calendar seems full, don’t hesitate to contact me anyway. I may still be able to accommodate you. I can organize private transportation by private car and driver. Please note that I provide pick-up and drop-off at the hotel or port only through the driver. I will meet you directly at the designated meeting point. For easy communication on the day of the tour, I suggest downloading WhatsApp on your smartphone.

The Rome Jewish Community is the oldest in the western world: it dates back to the 2nd century B. C. Shortly after Rome became the Capital of Italy, the old ghetto was dismantled and the Jewish people were granted citizenship. Between 1901 and 1904 a monumental temple, the Great Synagogue, was built to celebrate the event, and it is still the main Jewish temple in Rome. The district is a landmark for the Jewish people with shops and kosher restaurants. We cross the Fabricio bridge (62 B. C. ), the oldest bridge left in Rome, and we reach the Tiber island and Trastevere. The district developed as an area for merchants, sailors and foreigners. Trastevere looks like a maze of narrow, winding streets. It maintains its old character: cobbled streets lined by ancient houses, artisan workshops; medieval churches with mosaics and hidden treasures. I was born and grew up in Rome, a true local, I can reveal to you all the most picturesque and secrets anecdotes of these magnificent neighborhoods.
-Teatro di Marcello (outside) -Portico d'Ottavia -Piazza Mattei, Turtles Fountain -Via della Reginella -Sinagoghe ( outside) -Fabricio bridge -Tiber Island -Emilio bridge/Broken bridge (Ponte Rotto) -Piazza in Piscinula -Basilica Santa Cecilia (outside) -Basilica Santa Maria in Trastevere -18 th century San Gallicano Hospital (outside) -Piazza Trilussa -Sisto bridge We can stop for a taste of typical food - savory or sweet depending on your choice: suppli' or the typical pizza ebraica a dried fruit cake or others The itinerary can be customized according to your needs and requests. Generally in all the Roman historical monuments and churches dress code for both men and women requires shoulders and knees to be covered. Shorts and skirts are fine, but below knees. Do not bring large items(e. g. large bags, backpacks, long umbrellas).
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
