Welcome to ROME, THE ETERNAL CITY ! Dear Traveler, I’m Dino, a true Roman born-and-bred, with over 16 years of experience as a professional Tourist Guide. I hold a Ph.D. in History and a "cum laude" degree in Arts from Rome’s prestigious university, and I’m a member of the Rome Guides' Association. When you visit a foreign city, you want more than just facts—you want stories, charm, and insight that bring the destination to life. That’s exactly what I offer. With me, you’ll get the insider’s perspective of Rome, crafted with expertise, warmth, and a local’s touch. Why Choose My Tours? Over the years, I’ve merged my academic background (including research in the Vatican Secret Archive) with my love for the Eternal City to design tours that are as entertaining as they are informative. Whether you’re exploring Rome, Vatican City, or the surrounding gems of the Lazio Region like Tivoli, Ancient Ostia, Frascati, or Civita di Bagnoregio, every tour is personalized to your interests. My Credentials: Almost 1800 private tours since 2012 with ToursByLocals Almost 800 5-star reviews!! AWARDS: # Honored as the inaugural winner of the 'Golden Guide Awards 2025' in the prestigious 'Lifetime Achievement' category #1 in ToursByLocals’ global “Top 10 Busiest Guides” list multiple times (2013–2018) My interview for Travel + Leisure magazine : https://www.travelandleisure.com/hidden-gems-in-rome-from-tour-guide-11900285 What Makes My Tours Special? My tours can last from 3 hours up to a full day and the PRICE depends on duration. The vast majority of my tours are walking tours cause I love to show you sights, as charming squares or picturesque alleys, that you won't see on the tour bus or by car, with me you can experience only PERSONAL TOURS! Even If I'm a Ph. D my guided tours are not "historic conferences"; I'm an knowledgeable, professional but also easy going, friendly and flexible guide and I believe that people during holidays also want to have fun, to discover new interesting things about the city, to enjoy a delicious and fabulous ice-cream, to taste an italian wine, the "amatriciana" or "carbonara", or to take the best italian espresso! Do not forget you are in vacations, having fun is a must!!! Don't' hesitate to contact me with your individual requirements to design your own perfect Rome tour! I would love, that when leaving Rome, you'll love the city and appreciate its wonders as much as I do. Rome offers something for everyone. Rome has something for everyone tastes, as tourist guide my task is to reveal you not only the most evocated landmarks but, above all, the secret jewel-case of the Eternal City, that means the less visible treasures and all the unusual and less-frequented sites, the Rome off the beaten track! The tour will begin at the enchanting Aventine hill, the so-called "Hill of the Poetry", a unusual side of Rome that most tourists never get to experience, where we will admire the breathtaking view over Rome afforded by the Garden of Oranges, one of the most suggestive place of the Eternal City and the wonderful Basilica of Saint Sabina (5th-century). Once being discovered the fascination of the Aventine hill, we will head the Jewish Quarter (ex-Ghetto, considered the most ancient of the western world), next the Tiberina island before concluding our pleasant walking tour in the picturesque and bohemian roman medieval neighborhood of Trastevere walking among churches, squares and cobblestone narrow streets.
- Aventine Hill ("the Hill of the Poetry") - Basilica St. Sabina (V° century) - Garden of Oranges - Garden of Roses* - Circus Maximus - Forum Boarium - Jewish Quarter (ex Ghetto) - Tiberina Island - Trastevere * Note: During the Mid-April-June flowering season (and Mid-October) this tour includes a visit of the "Garden of Roses" on the slope of the Aventine hill above the Circus Massimo. Please contact me for customization. Hotel/accomodation pick up can be included upon request.
