Hello, my name is Alessandra and I was born and grew up in Rome - a true local! I graduated in 1995 with a degree in Art History and have worked in art communication ever since. In developing didactic projects I've collaborated with Universities, Museums and Government Agencies. Most importantly, I spent several years at the MACRO (Museo Arte Contemporanea Roma) followed by even more years at the Trajan Markets (Imperial forums Museum). So, as you can see my interests in art range from the far past to the immediate present. For the past seven years I've worked as a private tour guide and I love it. I believe a walk through Rome is a walk through time, from the earliest settlement on the Palatine to the still busy artisan neighborhoods, from the Christian churches to the Jewish Ghetto. I specialize in tailor-made tours for first time or repeat visitors seeking more in depth knowledge of the city. Overview of your Rome tour
With this tour, I will offer you panoramic views of Rome that you cannot see on a simple walking tour, as well as introduce you to its history and art. I will be happy to answer your questions about "living and getting around" in Rome. I will tailor your route around the archeological site allowing for external views of the Colosseum, the Palatine hill and the Circus Maximus. Then we will stop to Aventine hill, where you can admire a breathtaking view of Rome. We also pass the Vatican, after crossing the river in front of Castel Sant'Angelo, for a view of St. Peter's Square before continuing up the Janiculum hill with the dome-studded panorama of Rome, and a stop at the second terrace of the famous fountain "Fontanone". The tour will end in the famous Piazza Navona, where we will be able to stroll through the narrow streets of Rome and see the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain.
Your Rome tour itinerary
Pick up at your hotel/accommodation with a private car and driver We will see: - Circus Maximus - Colosseum (outside) - Gianicolo and Fontanone - St Angelo Castle (outside) - St Peter Square - Trevi Fountain - Pantheon (outside) - Navona Square - Fountain of Rivers Drop off at your hotel/accommodation Note: the itinerary may change due to traffic in the city. -This is a 4-hour orientation tour and does not include admissions to any sites, but if you prefer the itinerary can be customized in advance according to your requests. -During the flowering season of mid-April-June, we can visit the Romantic Rose Garden or other sites of your liking (upon request). -If you want to visit the Colosseum or the Vatican from the inside, you can book my private tours. Note: the itinerary may change due to traffic in the city.
