I am an Expat from the United States, I have been blessed to live and guide through this beautiful country called Italy for the past 22 years. My first love and city mastered was the Eternal City of Rome, where I have lived and taught an English Master's program at UET. The University of European Tourism is located outside the Papal walls of Vatican City. I enjoyed teaching and being around the students very much, their youth is contagious. As I've traveled around the entire country, I've discovered the beauty in each region, as well as the wine and culinary wonders. My guiding experience is throughout Italy's Regions, as a National Driver Guide. My areas of expertise include the hillside medieval towns that are nestled in-between the Apennine Mountains. During my tours, I explain the history of Italy and make certain that you have the opportunity to experience all of the local monuments, as well as the iconic art and historical culture. My guiding is based on the TRUE ITALIAN EXPERIENCE. The Slow Food Movement, which they call the zero kilometer touring started in Italy because of how the food is prepared and my tours will take you to taste it all, fresh cheese, the award winning wines and truffle pasta. . . not to mention the limoncello in Sorrento after a day in Pompei. I have been blessed with a gift when it comes to guiding children and the disabled throughout this country. Nothing is a challenge for me and I enjoy seeing each of these places with people who thought they would never get there, life is meant to be lived! I look forward to hearing from you and booking our special excursions together. Please know that you have made the right choice to book through ToursByLocals, as we are the best of the best in the industry. Always remember that Travel is the one thing you buy that makes you richer! I have over 25 years of Experience in the touring industry and previously worked for Vacations.com and Expedia Global Brands. I'm not a Vatican certified guide.

For those of you who "think" you've seen all of Rome and then some. . . wait. . . there's more! On this tour you will experience the off the beaten track area's of interest. The places where few folks go and calm walks and primo photo shots are experienced. We will go, see and do the following places and more: The Chiesa de Santa Prassede: On a quiet side street near the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, this small, easy-to-miss church is a gem. From the outside it looks nothing special, but venture in and you'll be bowled over by some of Rome's most dazzling Byzantine mosaics. The 9th-century apse designs are beautiful but for a full-on, jaw-dropping spectacle, check out the Cappella di San Zenone. The Quartiere Coppedè- Taking a stroll in the Quartiere Coppedè, Northeast of Villa Borghese. This pocket-sized district, designed in the 1920s by a little-known Florentine architect, Gino Coppedè, is a fairytale mishmash of turreted villas, towers, gargoyles, arches and graceful palm trees. Villa Gulia too!
- The Museo Nazionale Etrusco di Villa Giulia is one of Rome's great unsung museums. Housed in an elegant Renaissance villa, its superb collection of Etruscan treasures provides a fascinating introduction to the mysterious people who ruled central Italy before the Romans. Must-sees include a 6th-century BC tomb, the Sarcofago degli Sposi (Sarchophagus of the Betrothed), and the terracotta Apollo di Veio. - Overlooked by an ancient pyramid, the Cimitero Acattolico (Non-Catholic Cemetery; cemeteryrome. it) is a verdant oasis of peace in the bustling Testaccio district. An air of Grand Tour romance hangs over the site where up to 4000 people lie buried, including the English poets John Keats and Percy Shelley, and Italian political thinker Antonio Gramsci. Outside the cemetery walls, Testaccio is a top spot for a taste of nose-to-tail cuisine. Many of Rome's trademark offal dishes originated in the area, and there are any number of trattorias still serving them, including longtime favourite Da Felice
