The monumental heart of ancient Rome is today a unique archaeological park set in the modern city—an extraordinary open-air museum stretching across more than 200 acres. After years working at the Imperial Forums Museum, I can guide you through this vast heritage. Step by step, the great ruins reveal their history, construction techniques and original functions, coming back to life through reconstructions and maps that show how the area evolved over the centuries. The Colosseum, the largest amphitheater ever built, celebrated the power of the empire with spectacles such as hunts and gladiatorial combats. The Roman Forum, center of public life for over a thousand years, preserves the remains of its main political, religious and ceremonial buildings. On Palatine Hill, birthplace of Rome, the imposing ruins of the imperial palaces overlook the Forum with breathtaking views.

The itinerary could be on the reverse according to Colosseum time slot tickets. -Please write me if there are people with mobility problems and if you use or need a wheelchair, the itinerary will be different. -Please bring a copy of your passport (paper copy or photo on your phone), the tickets are nominal and a copy of your documents must be shown. NOTE: during the Winter from November to February the latest time to start the tour is 1:00 PM.
