Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Roman Forum private tour with an archaeologist

Simone was a great guide for the Roman forum and Palatine hill. She was responsive to questions in advance before arriving in Italy. At the beginning of the tour she explained, and made sure we were clear before beginning, on the different periods of Roman history and their relevance to what we would be seeing. Her archaeological experience elevated her knowledge to a more cohesive level for a more impactful tour, which is what we wanted. She was thoughtful about the depth of what should would explain to provide us with enough information but not overwhelm. She also added her humor and personality to make for a relaxed, informative and enjoyable tour.

It was a great experience to have Simona show us the Colosseum & Palatine Hills. She is extremely knowledgeable. Very responsive even before we booked her. After the tour, the kids were tired and hungry and she walked us over to a better restaurant and made sure we were seated in one of the better spots within the restaurant.

There is so much to know about the Colosseum, I never imagined I would get such an in-depth education as we received on our tour with Simona. She started our tour by providing great historical context for what we were about to see. She has detailed knowledge of the construction and history of this famous site. Though the next segment of our tour through the Forum was interrupted by rain, Simona carried on and gave us a wonderful tour despite the weather. Our tour of the Coliseum, Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum was exceptional! The attention to detail that Simona takes to explain what you are going to see prior to the entering was extremely helpful. Simona’s background of being an archaeologist that worked on the sight brings such an extra layer of depth to the history. We never felt rushed during the process so that we could fully understand the history. The experience of the Underground and the Arena floor was probably one of the best experiences we had in Rome. To truly understand how it all worked during games at the Coliseum was invaluable! We came away with such a better understanding of the history of Rome, how its government was formed and amazing Coliseum.
