Overview of your Rome tour
What's the best way to discover ancient Rome? With an archaeologist like me, of course! I have a degree in Archeology and I have a special passion for Roman art! Our ancient Rome tour will start with Rome's most famous site, the Colosseum. Ancient world largest stadium, it was famous for the gladiatorial games, that the emperors offered to entertain the crowd. We'll see the school where the gladiators lived and trained, and the spot where the emperors would watch the spectacles. Leaving the Colosseum I will tell you about Nero's "Domus Aurea" and the great fire of Rome. We will get to the Roman Forum, which is now barely razed to ground but still full of history, and I will help you to imagine what ancient Rome was like using my book like a "time machine". Then we will dig deeper into the history of Rome to uncover the past down to the foundation of the city, on the Palatine Hill. Here you'll see the ruins of the Imperial palace but also find out that the story of Romolus and Remus is not only a legend.

This was an incredible tour!! Stefania was an amazing guide through the Colosseum and the Forum. We were a large party and used the radios to hear her, which worked great! I can't imagine going to these places without a guide there is just too much to see. Stefania covered all the highlights with an impressive amount of knowledge and information. We had four children with us and she did a great job keeping them engaged and making sure they were keeping up! Would definitely take another tour with Stefania!

-Walking Tour. -I suggest bringing a bottle of water and to wear comfortable shoes. -During the summer, be sure not to forget a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses. -During the winter, be sure not to forget a raincoat or small umbrella. -Only small bags/backpacks (40x35x15) are permitted. -For security reasons, all visitors are to be screened with Metal Detectors. NOTE: during the Winter from November to February the latest time to start the tour is 1:00 PM.
